I for one am glad you went to meet him. As mentioned before, this could have been the only chance you had. Regardless of what happened, what choices he made, perhaps at the time that was the best thing he could have done for all involved. Forgiving is tough sometimes. It takes a big man to be able to do it. Sounds like you did.
