Diawa team 90 s
could definitely be yes. I think by the time I got my first pearl white Chronarch the gold "super free" ones were already out

Diawa team 90 s
I believe the original TD2 and TD1 Hi reels predated the pearl white chronarchs by a number of years, at least in terms of release date. My Dad's combo I'm pretty sure was purchased in 1989 and the pearl white Chronarchs were available in the late 90s, I had one that I bought in 1999. But yes, they might have been available at the same time for sure. Anyone know how long the TD Hi reels were produced? 10 years?

Diawa team 90 s
the first 'high end' rod and reel I ever handled was my dad's Team Daiwa TD2Hi baitcasting reel with a pistol grip 6 foot Team Daiwa topwater/twitchin' rod by George Cochran back in the late 80s (probably 1989 or even 1990) I was so envious of that combo lol I think it was $150 US for the rod, and $150 US for the reel.

NRX 901S: Hooking 4+ Lbs Largemouth Bass
I have the IMX Pro version of the 901S (same specs) and have caught some decent smallmouth on it. its 7'6 so you just hang on and let the rod handle the load as mentioned above. I use mine for everything small. I use it with 6 pound mono (Sufix Siege)

Fenwick Revamp
I have handled them in store and they felt great. my only issue is I hate top down locking spinning reel seats lol they put them on upside down!

Two-piece rods.
its it 2 door or 4 door? because I fit my 8 foot 1 piece musky rod in my toyota corolla with no issues at all. butt of rod in the front passenger area, rod through the seats. they don't even have to be down. you should easily be able to get some 7 foot 1 piece rods in there no problem then you don't have to mess around with 2 piece models because they suck lol

from my last fishing adventure (while on vacation in Montreal) my three main rods all Loomis with shimano reels the IMX pro SJR901 with nasci 1000 FC reel slays smallies with 6 pound Sufix Siege and Mepps #3 black fury!

Where do diminishing returns begin?
for rods, although they are 'high end' here in Canada at over $500, in the USA I think they are considered 'mid range' rods, but the G. Loomis IMX Pro rods are amazing. I have two models, the MBR 903C and the SJR 901S and they are super sensitive, crisp and are rocket launcher casters

Had a pike break my line yesterday & lost a $150 glide bait. What can I do to my setup to prevent this in the future?
I think you could use a steel leader if there are big pike around. I doubt the bass care. I have caught many bass while fishing for pike with a steel leader while casting spinner baits and #5 Mepps black fury's. If you are fighting a big pike they can still work their way though even thick flouro from what I understand. same with muskies

iCast news?
shimano is teasing a new spinning reel on instagram people are saying its a new Vanford

Improved Clinch Knot Musings.
I used to use it all the time (with a few notable failures) then I switched to the palomar knot and have never looked back. zero failures with it and easier to tie etc

7' Medium Heavy spinning rod, recommended reel size?
back in the days before I learned how to use a baitcasting reel, I used a 4000 size stradic on a 7 foot MH spinning rod with 12 pound test trilene mono. it worked very well. this was in the days before shimano offered the 3000 or the 2500 reel. they had the 2000 or 4000 and the 2000 was pretty small.

What kind of handles do you like for a baitcaster?
I like whatever the rubber that shimano is using. It used to be Septon but I think they changed that because it was breaking down with sunscreen from people's hands.

Increased Spinning Rod Lengths ?
so over the last few years I have slowly upgraded all my gear to longer rods. my main baitcasting rig is a 7'6 imx pro MBR 903 and my main spinning rig is a 7'6 imx pro SJR 901 the casting distance of 7'6 rods over the old standard 6'6 rod is significant.

How is Quantum still alive?
I don't think they have ever been considered high end equipment. At least not compared to shimano or diawa reels or G. Loomis rods etc.

I’m about to give up on braid —> leader
I use suffix siege mono for both baitcasting and spinning gear. its amazing 12 on casting, 8 or 10 on spinning (6 on my light powered spinning gear) I too hated wind knots with braid on spinning gear

took my two favorite combos out for some Lake Ontario pier action the other day but no fish. Still it was nice to get out there. IMX Pro MBR 903C with Curado 200i PG IMX Pro SJR 901S with Nasci 1000 FC

NEW G Loomis GLX just dropped!
I don't believe the NRX plus and GLX are the same rod blank as asked above. Loomis doesn't take a blank, put different components on it and call it something different.

The unthinkable
this sucks. the only reasonable solution to ease your pain is to take each combo that was lost and upgrade each rod and reel you know what they say, the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else

Alternative to Shimano Bantam Oil B-100 (For Vanquish 2024)
I use the oil currently made by Abu Garcia as a substitute for the bantam oil that used to come with the reels as I can get it at my local tackle shop. it seems fine and I don't notice any difference. and it comes in a much bigger bottle. I use it on both my shimano baitcasters and spinning reels. its this one:

Mono
I love Sufix Siege mono its by far the best I've ever used but its not available everywhere

Loose mono on baitcaster?
What line are you using? I've been using Sufix Siege in 12 pound test on my baitcaster for years now, and its amazing. super strong and casts like a dream. as others have said, sounds like you just need to tighten your spool tension knob a bit. that should stop the loose loops
