  1. I still use modern (Sufix) monofilament line..does that count?
  2. the SJR901S is such an awesome spinning rod. I have the IMX Pro version and its so great for throwing anything small.
  3. I use 12 pound Sufix Siege on my Curado 200i
  4. who hasn't skinnydipped in the Bass Pro tank?
  5. I raised this question a few months ago when they first came out. what was the point of this redesign? they downgraded the guides (not fuji alconite anymore), added foam to the foregrip and didn't give us any new lengths?? kind of an odd redesign no?
  6. I believe its because they switched to SeaGuide reel seats on their lower to mid range models which aren't that great compared to Fuji. but it was a cost cutting measure. The pandemic really hit many manufacturers hard.
  7. awesome! they really should do some sort of recall for all these rods rather than wait for them all to fail and do further damage to their reputation.. better to step up and own the problem rather than let it play out which will take a long time. And lots of people who have these issues may not ever buy a St. Croix again.
  8. I just use 12 pound test Sufix Siege on my baitcasting rig. strong and casts like a rocket. nothing wrong with using old school mono on a baitcaster.
  9. I wouldn't hesitate to get the imx pro ned rig rod. I have two imx pro rods, the MBR 903C casting and the SJR901 spinning rod and both are amazing. very comfortable handle on the spinning model too. Casts like a dream
  10. I never ever used it in 30 years of fishing. so I don't miss it at all
  11. i mean if one of them had a low gear ratio, that to me would be a power spinning reel but the gear ratios are the same so... now, if you are comparing sizes, like as mentioned above, a 1000 size reel is not going to work for pier salmon but a 4000 size reel does. so there's that
  12. IMX Pro rods are amazing. Just saying
  13. I would rather stick a swizzle stick up my pee hole
  14. IMX Pro SJR 902 I have the SJR 901 and its amazing for light stuff/small stuff. The 902 would be the perfect all around spinning rod IMO 7'6 length really lets you cast a mile. the IMX pro's are sensitive
  15. same. back in the late 90s the orange stuff was on everything I owned lol it was great line. I think today's Sufix Siege and Elite have surpassed it as it is more limp but for its time the Photochromic (later renamed Premium Strength) was an excellent line
  16. I would argue the Curados would fall into this category simply because for $200 US you get a reel that can last 15 years. Isn't that better than a $100 reel that only lasts 5 or 6?
  17. the new website is terrible. the rod model numbers like MBR903C etc are not even in the rod chart anymore. totally awful.
  18. I use 12 pound Sufix Siege on my baitcasting rig. its amazing
  19. I would think the BassX as well. They redesigned them for 2023 because the last generation had reel seats that would fall apart. the new ones are red and black with cork
  20. for a do it all rod I would definitely go MH
