Mono/Copoly Rated Strength vs. Diameter
in the suffix lines as well there is a big jump from 10 to 12 pound test. goes from 0.012 to 0.014 all other increases go up by 0001 inches. not sure why either??

Line for all around use
I'm using sufix Siege 10 pound on my spinning rig and 12 pound on my baitcasting rig.

Mono/Copoly Rated Strength vs. Diameter
notice the lines on the bottom of the list are the thicker lines relative to their rated strength and diamaters (the suffix monos, Trilene XT and Big Game) are all 'thicker' monos relative to their rated strength. hence the deviation is positive. problem is, their actual strength is probably a lot higher than their rated strength on the package. so this would change everything.

6'6" rods
im going the other way. I just bought a loomis E6X 903c that is 7 foot 6 one piece. I used to love 6'6 rods, now I love the longer ones for doing all the same stuff. go figure.

Low stretch mono options
Im a sufix Siege fan in 10 and 12 pound tests.

Travel Rods
That's when I bought my Escape rod #2. They went on sale last year for Black Friday $150 off. Even though I am in Canada I still came out way ahead.

Travel Rods
another vote for the Loomis Escape series. I own two. worth the investment because they come with a crush proof rod tube and rod sock. they are great.

E6X MBR903c
Hi i usually go to a pier in oakville but I didn't get out this weekend as it was too cold.

Fenwick Boron X 6' pistol grip
when boron was popular (the 70s) I was still liquid, but I have heard they are/were very brittle

Light action rod
I use a G. Loomis GL3 SJR700 for throwing light stuff and love it. its rated 'mag light' so its got a backbone but a very light tip with an XF action. its rated for 2-8 pound line and up to 1/4oz lures. its one of my favorites. I also love the TSR trout series of ultralights from loomis (I have the TSR791) but it sounds like that would be too light for what you are looking for.

E6X MBR903c
Thanks for the reviews. Im hoping to take this rod out this weekend to cast for some lake Ontario brown trout

1 or 2 piece?
im not sure why people are so concerned about transport. I drive a Toyota corolla and I have no issues fitting my 7'6" one piece MBR903c in it. I hate two piece rods. not as sensitive by design (although ferrules have of course, improved). heavier and more prone to breakage at the ferrule. One piece is way better and worth the consequence of transport. once you are out on the water its so worth it. this is how my wife knows its truly spring

E6X MBR903c
Hi all. I picked up an E6X MBR903c rod at a local tackle show for a great price. this replaces my 843c E6X which I really like. I upgraded for the extra length since I fish from shore/piers. This is a rod not often talked about as it is 7'6 one piece.. Any reviews? thanks

New Loomis site
I hope they don't remove the cool little paragraphs they often have describing the rods and their best uses. this was always one of the coolest things about the loomis website and catalogues. No one else really did this and it set them apart. Don't F it up Shimano

Ultralight Rod - 6'6" vs 7'?
longer the better. casts light lures better. more shock absorption when you get a big fish on. I use suffix siege 4 pound mono on my UL rig, which is a G. Loomis TSR791 with a sustain FE 1000 reel.

K resale value low super low ? Possibly?
i posted a question a while ago about the problems Ive read about with the K. I have the 200i series and wanted to upgrade to the enhanced SVS system (the white brakes) but I keep reading about broken thumb bars and dials too stiff the turn. the display model at my local Bass Pro has a dial so stiff I couldn't even turn it. not a good sign. yeah, im not buying that reel. come on Shimano.

Why doesn’t GLOOMIS use micro guides
I for one, am glad they don't. i like traditional guides.

Best Mono Line hands Down
the thing I really like about sufix Siege is that it is a 'tough' abrasion resistant line like Big Game but it is much limper and can be used on Spinning gear no problem When I tried BG on spinning I didn't like the way it casts (even in 8 pound). but the Siege is very limp. For this reason its my favorite as it is good on both spinning and BC reels.

Rapala BX Brat
Anyone tried this bait yet? are the two sizes identical except for the lip size? they look pretty awesome and at 3/8oz should cast very well on both spinning and casting tackle.

Best Monofilament for casting reels
last season I began using Sufix Siege 10 pound test mono in Smoke Green colour. I really like it. Casts fantastic and strong. The dark green disappears in water.

Zodias, Avid X or Zillion
its worth noting that the Zodias does not have a hook keeper. a lot of people order it and are ticked to find that its missing one.

Fishing line to use on loomis 852s
