Nicest combo out there
hmm. probably my two nicest combos: G. Loomis E6X MBR 903c 7'6 MH casting rod with Curado 200i PG and G. Loomis E6X JWR 852s 7'1 M spinning rod with Stradic 3000 FK

Issue with Palomar knot and copolymer line.
i use the palomar knot with sufix siege which is a very slick, slippery line and have found its very tough to break. Using an improved clinch knot on the same line however, fails (for me anyway).

Curado DC............Catastrophe?
im confused as to the spool wobble. does the spool on the DC wobble much more than normal baitcasters? eg. say as compared to a Curado I or K? which has almost no wobble?
-
Curado DC............Catastrophe?
i have to wonder how many of the 'issues' we see are people that don't know how to use a baitcaster properly, buy a curado DC and think that it will do everything for them, then complain about the reel when it doesn't?

Most trusted mono or copolymer lines by pros?
I love my Sufix Siege oh yeah diggit

Breaking Rods, How many per year do you?
I have never broken one while fishing <touches my wood> but I have broken a Sage fly rod top in a car door. Luckily it has an excellent warranty (new top piece made for $50 US)

New Shimano spinning reel for my new Loomis GL2 802S?
prob. stradic Ci4 although I like the 3000 sizes over the 2500 as the handle is bigger to grab and has more line capacity

Braid,Mono, or flourocarbon?
I really like it, I use 12 pound on baitcasting and 10 on spinning gear. strong and casts very well. but slick - i was getting problems with knots slipping and breaking so I had to switch from an improved clinch knot to a palmoar knot. the palomar works fantastic with this slick line

Braid,Mono, or flourocarbon?
Straight mono for me (Sufix Siege)

Why don't manufacturers specify lure weight?
most of them do. sometimes its hidden in back behind the lure or on where the barcode is. its just hard to find sometimes.

2018 G Loomis E6X 844 MBR vs 854 JWR
I own the E6X MBR903c which is a 7'6 version of the classic 843. Its worth a look as the extra length is pretty awesome. However, it is MH power not Heavy power (3 power not 4 power)

Curado DC............Catastrophe?
they had lots of problems with this, apparently they switched adhesives and the problem was corrected. but why did they have a two piece clutch button in the first place? the design used on the previous models (for example, the 200i) was perfect and didn't fall apart on you. that's the Flux Capacitor.

New Sufix Advance?
I love Sufix Siege I hope they make it until the year 2268

I was told Shimano is the only spinning reel under $100 whose bearings won't rust - is this true?
if the nasci is wobbly there is something wrong with it. they are well balanced. in fact, most spinning reels today are. only the really cheap ones wobble these days.
-
Shimano Nasci or Stradic?
the direct drive handle on the stradic is worth the upgrade IMO. over time its much more solid. also, the tapered bail arm and waterproof drag on the stradic as well. the FK is an awesome reel.
-
St Croix Mojo Yak series rods
the grips look like they are rubberized so they should be easy to hold when wet.
-
Does this look right for a rod sleeve?
I have the same one for my 7'6 E6X and yes, it stops just after the last guide I think. Its the way they are designed. I have used them inside a plano rod tube and it works well.

Thumbing baitcaster
once you get good with a baitcaster, you won't put your thumb on the spool at all until the end of the cast. see the 'advanced baitcasting' thread from a week or so ago. its just comes with time on the water. you will get there don't worry.

What’s your favorite rod and spinning reel?
Although I use my casting setup 90% of the time now, for me its my Stradic 3000 FK spooled with Sufix Siege 10 pound mono mounted on a Loomis E6X JWR 852S.

Reel on a crank bait rod
*Winch lmao

New Sufix Advanced Mono (Hyper Copoly)
hmm...maybe I'll just stick with Sufix Siege as well..
-
New Sufix Advanced Mono (Hyper Copoly)
its the same thickness for all tests as Sufix Elite and Siege (which I love) until you get to 20 pound test, then its 0.020 instead of 0.018 inches. I love Siege for both casting and spinning gear but I am interesting in trying this for the low stretch properties..

Rod Pair with Shimano Curado K
the green on the curado K would match perfectly with the green accents on an IMX Pro~!

Reel on a crank bait rod
I use a 5.5:1 curado 200i PG, the last generation, but I don't think shimano offers any USA cranking reels anymore. I also use Sufix Siege mono 12 pound test (on an E6X MBR903c). I like the slower, more powerful ratio for big crankbaits and big spinnerbaits and large inline spinners like the #5 mepps. Trying to retrieve big water resistant baits with a fast reel is difficult and annoying IMO. more powerful is better, but its getting tougher to find higher torque reels. Everything these days is fast fast fast

New Sufix Advanced Co-Polymer Mono
Are other Copolymer lines known to be troublesome on casting gear? I was always under the impression that they could be stiff and therefore not well behaved on spinning gear, but I thought all was good with casting gear?
