  1. I have a sit in and I don't get wet, so I just wear layers and adjust as needed
  2. I will throw a chatter bait before a spinner bait. I used to throw spinner first but the chatter bait I have a lot more confidence in now so it is the first bait I throw usually.
  3. Great day fishing, didn't catch a lot but it was peaceful and beat working
  4. For your first kayak don't spend a lot of money, also don't discount sit in kayaks. I picked up a field and stream from dicks 4 years ago it was a sit in for $350 on sale, it was the best $ I spent. I do not get wet even on windy days. Don't get hung up on sit on tops because everyone says that is the best. They both have their advantages, get one and you will have a blast
  5. I think I enjoy thanksgiving just as much as Christmas. I wish my family would stop the gift giving, we are all at a point in our lives where we really don't need anything but its great to get together.
  6. I will crappie fish in the winter. It will be vertical as well with crappie jigs and crappie nibblers. I fish off docks mostly and the crappie will vary in depths from 15-50 ft in depth. It's just a matter of finding them and then having fun
  7. I'm heading out in a little, I will have the lake pretty much to myself. I haven't heard or seen a boat yet this morning
  8. Enjoy the day and eat a lot of good food
  9. Welcome

Thanks for the info I will pick some up and give them a try.
  11. I loved that commercial, it would be nice to sometimes to have that option in every day life
  12. Agreed, I will throw either of these any time of the year
  13. We have all been there, especially on slow days

I don't throw jigs a lot, every year though at the start of the year I try to throw something new or something I haven't used in a while. Maybe this next year it will be the jig. A question though, I fish with a lot a rocks on the bottom and dragging the jig across it gets hung up a lot, what type of head would be best? Thanks
  15. This past summer I was fishing on the back of a dam in my kayak and hooked a carp back by the tail. It probably took me for a good half mile down stream before I could unhook it that was a a blast!
  16. I agree with stk, tie it down on the front and back also, a few extra minutes is worth your kayak flying off your car.
  17. I can deal with a little cold and rain, however, when the snow starts to fall it's time to go inside I guess I'm getting old (or wise)
  18. I use to go to concert and had a good time, a couple that stand out are Triumph for the music and Judas Priest for the people
  19. I'm hoping for at least one nice day over thanksgiving. If not I'll be done
  20. Chiefs beating the panthers, incredible take away at the end, I think it is safe to count out the panthers
  21. I wish I could look while fishing
