When To Use A Jig Vs. A Creature Bait?
You will hear alot of answers on this topic. Some say jigs produce better in the colder months than beavers and hogs. I like to have both tied on and try each and "listen" to what the fish are telling me. There is no one time where one is better than the other because I have killed them on the jig one day and the next they want plastic. Just got to try them both and see.

Thank You To Bass Resource
Congrats on med school! Fishing is alot like taking a history from a patient " If you listen to the patient long enough, they will tell you the diagnosis" When you fish "listen" to the fish and trust your instincts to make changes with the conditions and you will catch them. And as the father of two little girls, it is great to hear that you are getting your daughter out on the water. This is the best site out there!

Some Of My Molds I Made And Jigs, Just A Few!
I dont mind. To make a two part silicone mold is easy once you get the supplies and work out the kinks. I used some Rhodorosil v340 from Sunbelt Materials. First you have to get your master completely ready (no weed guard in and drilled out to fit a base hole pin, strip all paint, etc) then sink it half way into modeling clay. Make a mold box around it, measure and mix silicone, then pour the first half. 24 hours later, demold clean up any things you dont want in the mold. Flip the mold over, place jig back into previously poured mold, lube and repour like you did the day before. Wait 24 hours and demold, cut a pour point and begin pouring. It is not too difficult, but the silicone can be expensive if you only want to make one or two molds. I cant fish NEAR as much as I want to so I build lures in the mean time. I wasted ALOT of silicone trying to get things right, but now I have got it down and feel that the results were good enough to post. ( I'm a bit of a perfectionist) PM me with any questions or anything, I have made some for a few guys I know

Navionics Or Hotspots Maps For Lowrance Hds
I run navionics, I like it alot, however there are sometimes where the lowrance maps are better and is fairly easy to switch the two. I think that it all depends on where you fish, I say that because on the model I have the upper end of Lay lake is not even mapped, so I just switch back to the lowrance. Good Luck!

Home Made "chatterbaits"?
I have used an arky jig mold with the cross eye hook and used a split ring and blade. You can get blades from lurepartsonline or many other retailers. You can grind down a base hole pin and then you can pour heads without a weedguard hole if you want to.

Question For The Rage Guys
I have tried a ton of jig trailers and chunks, now I am going to start trying the rage line (tried to fight the hype but results are results), which one do yall perfer for a 3/8-1/2 oz jig, baby rage craw or rage craw? And is there a difference in the size of the claws between the babyrage and rage or is it just difference in body length? Thanks for the input, just want to know before I send an order off. Paxamus

Trouble With "gluing" In Weedguard
I like to use my base hole pin and make the hole slightly larger by wiggling it, then use Loctite gel superglue. That stuff is FANTASTIC!!

What Is Best Way To Work Floating Worm ?
A shakey head set up would make it sink but the tail would float up (which can be very effective) if you are talking about a weightless setup and swimming/twitching it back to the boat then here is my favorite way. I use a small swivel 12-18 inches above the hook (prevents line twist), then place a parasite worm clip , hook (I like a 3-0 to 4-0 ewg) and zoom trick worm (or comparable worm). Make a cast out to structure, grass, or anywhere "fishy" then dance it back with a twitch twitch pause (my favorite) or other cadence they like that day, you can also dead stick or burn it back. The parasite worm clip is optional, but can make a worm last for multiple fish and it will not ball up in the gap of the hook.

Wife Ruining Fishing
Well I am very lucky, my wife used to ask me "When are you going fishing again?" Now that we have a toddler and an infant I don't get to go near as much. It is difficult with two at the house, but I have to remember one thing- Water and fish are going to be there, kids grow up and move on. I am not trying to tell you what to do, I get that this is really a venting post for you man. I just try to do what I can fishing wise at the house and time frees up a little when they get to be around 6 months (little less labor intensive). That is the one thing that SUCKS about fishing- not being able to do it while at the house!! I want BPS, CABELAS, TW and others to sell an 8 hour block of time for you to go fishing- they will send someone to your house and do the Honey-dos while you fish!!

Drain Fuel Tank Or Not??
Well I ended up opening the mesh that holds all of the control cables and hoses to the outboard. I then disconnected the fuel bulb and used a hose connected to it to siphon THIRTY gallons of fuel out. Reconnected everything and then made many notes to myself about when I added the Stabil

Drain Fuel Tank Or Not??
Update: Tritons have a anti siphoning valve in then tank, you cannnot siphon from the filler cap, you have to disconnect the bulb and go from there.

Question For Jig Makers...
I used to use copper wire, but broke too many Mop skirts, found some galvanized and some green enamel coated floral wire at our local ACE hardware- works great
-
Drain Fuel Tank Or Not??
I think that I will probably end up siphoning the tank, then add fresh gas and stabilizer

Drain Fuel Tank Or Not??
Hey guys, With the addition of our second child, I have not had my boat out of the garage for around 6 months and I can't remember if I treated the gas. My question is, should I drain my fuel tank or just treat it? Thanks
