  1. Depends on how fast the river is going compared to normal. I catch them in the dead center middle of the river near absolutely nothing during the low/slow times. Then when it’s raging and swift they tuck in near banks bridges and barge ties
  2. “Big as a toaster”
  3. That’s the way my work truck does, 2019 F150
  4. Haha! I filleted it on the concrete form that holds the dock post…….. but took it inside after rinsing and cleaned it up further. Dogs were basically in my pocket the whole time watching intently my ole trusty cleaning board is 35 miles away, I miss it so……
  5. I can try those sometime, I’ve done some damage on Cherokee in winter and up the river on Douglas in hot summer with a Louisiana style alligator boat I’m gonna make them walk the plank next time
  6. Did some dock fishing this morning and got dinner. Believe it or not my wife doesn’t like crappie and I already have 3 of them frozen so I let it go and we ate the catfish 😂 crappie on a tiny paddle tail 4 lb test ultra light. Catfish on cut skipjack 50 lb seaguar tactix and 6/0 o’shaugnessy stainless hook
  7. I’d say jump in my boat anytime but you’re out there in gods country 😂 if you ever make it to the big city let’s go fishin I love it when my buddies catch big ones out the back of the boat, I usually land them.

Must’ve been a good day to hunt, my buddy’s son got his first deer, I think he’s 12 yrs old
  9. Almost all our lakes drop in winter, from 6 ft to some dropping 40 ft. I do seem to have better fishing the colder it gets (to a point). The fish love to suspend when it’s dropping, once it’s bottomed out and stable they might hang in shallower cover. Other lakes it may fluctuate daily and the fish seem fast reacting and willing to do whatever, those are main river lakes with more current. Those fish will eat rattle traps on shallow flats all winter. The highland tributary reservoir fish seem to like clear water with depth, either use spoons and blade baits to get down quickly or start finesse fishing
  10. I can attest, pike bite thru your line way faster than gar. I think it’s the way they inhale the lure instead of clamping down on it
  11. got one off the dock this morning before my wife dragged me to a fox hunt. Tally ho!!!
