  1. I was more referring to the landing. Swing the fish in, if it’s big crouch down to lip/net it

  4. Hahahaha yes like that!!! he did have some pics though, late November 2018.
  5. Pretty wild! She must have seen your steel leader and decided not to bite………just kidding !!! Sounds like one smart fish, probably been avoiding capture all summer
  6. Down time at guntersville? Negative ghost rider! But the lake is so massive you can sometimes hide from the world.
  7. Commercial cat fish ponds down south in Mississippi and Alabama have a very hard time getting those federal permits to take cormorants. They eventually issued the farmers a permit to take one bird just to spite them. let’s all stop and think, there are two factors why there are way more fish eating birds now than there were 30 years ago. Number one would be they stopped using DDT as a pesticide. Number two is there is much cleaner water with way more fish in it. It is a positive sign
  8. Busy all year just a different set of problems. Once it gets cold we start dealing with squirrels in attics, that particular issue is nonexistent in the summer. Also January and February is the great skunk wave every year. They are mating and on the move and usually get into a crawlspace. Also groundhogs and bats hibernate so we don’t have to deal with those in winter
  9. That cast metal is as useless as udders on a boar hog
  10. When you flush the toilet it goes into the river they swim in. Maybe it’s revenge?

  12. Hahaha this is your topic buddy, I’m an invasive species in North America. We use the birds as fish finders That’s been getting really bad at Douglas lake, my buddy that works for Uncle Sam gets to deal with them
  13. Here’s to a continued recovery! Trolling might be an option also, although it can get hectic at times contrary to popular belief
  14. The birds have more of a right to eat fish than we do! I love to see it They are far more patient and more sharing than human fishermen and have never tried to kill me
  15. “Outta the way, trying to work here!”
  16. I usually follow up with whatever they hit the first time. I’ve had a little success with that, almost zero success with a different follow up bait
  17. Turns out I think I could have used it for another 2-3 years ! I wailed on it for a while trying to get the old handle out and it moved about an inch or so. Eventually I just chiseled the old handle away. But safety first when swinging an axe I suppose !
  18. Kind of looks like a brook trout but I can’t tell if it has an adipose fin. Second guess is creek chub/fallfish type o’ thing
  19. Yep. I started having spams around 10 years ago after cutting firewood. Loaded down a whole truck with big logs no problem at all. Went to close the cattle gate and it just hit me really weird and I could barely stand up. Never been the same since, and it’s always sneezing or turning around quickly that triggers the spasms. Or when you step on a rock that moves and the muscles do a quick twitch, oooooo I hate that
