How do I fish for great lake smallies in the summer?
This is why I want to fish the Great Lakes! On TN river, there are piles of shad super thick literally everywhere. I mean gobs and gobs in every creek arm and all over the main channel. So finding the bait is as easy as pointing out the lake on a map. Sometimes I try fishing where there’s not shad everywhere to see if I can get my lure in front of fish that aren’t stuffed to the gills. It works on occasion but it’s hard to find a spot without bait. I would love to try Lake Erie , but I have an 18.5 foot flat bottom aluminum boat so it’s kind of a pipe dream haha. I have ridden a ferry on it and almost soiled my linens.
- Perfect pond with no big bass

Trying to explain what a bite feels like...
I was feeling the machine gun taps once and said out loud “aw, stupid bream hitting it” and set the hook anyway. 3 lb largemouth

Clinch Knot?
See ewww Plenty of cutting tools all throughout my boat, including a knife always in my pocket. Still not as handy as the teeth in my mouth

Clinch Knot?
I haven’t watched the video but I have caught 30+ lb stripers with 12 lb mono and a regular clinch knot. Palomar is too hard to bite through when changing lures

Why are largemouth so much more popular than smallmouth?
You see a lot of these license plates on Tennessee roadways

Is this normal?
I would say abnormal

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
I like the IBC in a glass bottle The lady wanted to go to Trader Joe’s to get some pizza dough and I found this for $6/6 pack. The same brand also had an IPA and a double IPA for the same price

took the old alpha female dog (cori) for a boat ride since she can’t go to the dog park. We saw 3-4 other dogs at the ramp and I was nervous but she didn’t get mad at them. My fiancé saw them coming when we taxied into the ramp and hooked the leash to the choke chain, that usually calms her down quite a bit. @12poundbass, would you believe that dog’s mother was pure bred pyranese? She was an oops baby

Structure Fishing and Thermocline
Luckily most of my waters lack a thermocline because of the current. People routinely catch monster catfish 50+ feet down
