  1. Many of my family members and plenty of other families in the area survived for years and years on soup beans
  2. We catch them on worms and creature baits, or trolled cranks . They always seem to be on the bottom during daylight
  3. As Tennessee fans, we have learned to always be prepared for a swift kick to the groin. We have checkerboard orange and white athletic supporters at the ready.......
  4. I’ve got a forever home on the lake (Although I don’t live there yet) and I will gladly invite anyone to skip away and hit the dock or boat. It’s never been a problem and it’s a very highly pressured lake. the dock has been there since the early 90s and wake boats are the enemy, not skipping fishermen. Zero damage in 20 years from fishermen, crazy boat slamming and erosion from big boat waves. All the neighbors have had to buy rip rap to curb erosion problems, I may have to do the same one day
  5. Well they got close anyway..... (I didn’t look it up). The rivalry and game itself is called “the third Saturday in October” but it’s had to be a week off a few times over the years. I think only the Georgia/auburn rivalry is older as far as SEC games, I’m surprised they moved it early into the season but a lot of shuffling had to be done I guess
  6. Down here the air is a moisturizing lotion haha
  7. 1.5 weeks later mostly healed
  8. I had to cut a gulp minnow off a jig head yesterday that I forgot about with a pocket knife ha ha
  9. Yeah, in grass the thicker the better. You can’t pull fish out of grass with light line or light rod. Well you can but eventually it will end badly
  10. Yeah that’s quite the burning sensation.
  11. Love the steeldrivers . I shall let someone else answer the trivia as I have seen them play many times back when
  12. In grass I throw it on 65 straight braid
  13. I aim to try it a lot between now and Christmas as our milfoil in the Downtown area hangs around through fall. I threw it in grass beds in Alabama during a shad spawn But the gar wouldn’t leave it alone
  14. Use tube jigs, bring lots of extra tube jigs, and charge your trolling batteries
  15. There were a few sinkholes that opened up, I’m guessing they were a result of the earthquake https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wbir.com/amp/article/traffic/no-injuries-reported-after-car-flips-into-sinkhole-in-jefferson-city-us-11-e-shut-down/51-a2e65f9c-35be-4211-a4d3-ee706f15c119
  16. Gotcha, thanks. I think the Berkley ones were 9.99 in my local tackle shop
  17. Well we have logs in the deep water too. A 50 foot log stuck on a river ledge that drops 15 to 35 can have fish suspended all around it. Are the duo baits $15?

    “The schnazberries taste like schnazberries”
  19. 3rd Saturday in October will still have TN vs Bama, been that way since about 1900
  20. Seems like Berkley makes one now too, Or did I dream that I saw those in a store? I’d like to try this tactic but there’s a lot of random logs in my waters
  21. We threw together a quick float trip after work, I kind of grabbed some things and forgot any bass hooks except 2 shakey heads. I had a buzzbait tied on one rod and got a backlash right off the bat. The lure jammed in a log while I was picking it out. We paddle over to attempt finding it and can’t, but my buddy finds a d-bomb and a big EWG hook and puts it on his rod. Later down the river he gets a nice keeper walleye with it! I finally caught a largemouth with a menace on a shakey head right as we float under a bumper crop of poison ivy. My buddy always says he doesn’t get poison ivy and just grabs the whole vine!!! I will report back if he needs a prednisone dose pack later this week haha. We also saw a bunch of turkeys and poults walk across a bridge out to an island
  22. Purple worm behind the rocks! River is too scary for me after dark. When it’s muddy you just aren’t going to catch as many, still worth trying
  23. I had a buck tail in-line buzzer commercially made and it sucked. The baits I’m referring to that catch the crap out of bass are homemade Frankenstein type things built from two commercial lures
  24. Shew buddy! I know some fellers that put a buzzbait blade on a snag less sally and they will accept no amount of money for them, believe me I’ve tried after they out fished me badly for a decade or so. Don’t give up on the inline buzzer! Hint: yours had the wrong kind of blade
