The rowing team practices daily near my house and I’ve never seen a life jacket on any of them including the coaches in the power boats. i have to disagree with the “what is your life worth, you have to spend $250” opinion. Foam floats and is cheap, also less likely to fail. It seems to me if your life is important, use one that doesn’t require inflating maybe it’s because I work in attics, crawl spaces, and on roofs in boots and pants all day but wearing a foam jacket in a boat is not uncomfortable to me

Off set round bend. I like 1/0 and 2/0 for some stuff on 6 and 8 lb line but 4/0 and 5/0 for thicker line

I know you are somewhere in my state but I don’t know where. I’ve caught some with it but not many, the water in downtown Knoxville is still at 66 degrees and a lot of fish are prespawn. Luckily they will hit top water into november so there’s still time

I never catch anything out in the woods, right up against people’s house is where you can rack up haha. I can catch 15-20 critters (skunks, raccoons, and possums) in fairly quick order with cage traps set up against the siding of lots and lots of houses. I think a few species of animals have changed their diet from what they can find in the woods to what they can find in a neighborhood. Some of our customers have trail cams and they are always shocked by how many different critters are in their yard every night. Lots of customers see foxes in their yards daily, it’s like the discovery channel! Neighborhoods are always full of pet food, bird seed, garbage, and well irrigated lawns full of worms and grubs. The woods are full acorns, hickory nuts, and bugs.....

Water still a cool 66 degrees, a lot of stuff still shallow.

Well I’ve been experimenting with a poor mans ned rig. My buddy Tyler gave me a handful of jigheads so that part was free......... ripped a gander mtn stickbait in half and fish were thumping it. I was banging on the drum! Even mister Walter grabbed it . Water temp 66! And I went swimming...... brrrrrrr

I do better 99% of the time but the 1% can stay in the woods. Raccoon roundworm is not something you want to step in

You are the perfect candidate for fly fishing for trout haha. I bet flies are still fully stocked!

They clearly eat the small ones in my neck of the woods but not the big ones. And I only have 1 of them and it’s huge......This conclusion is based on massive amounts of research. My buddies throw the small ones and catch fish, the big ones have still never landed anything in a few years
