  1. All I know is the cowl says mercury 135 and it flies haha. I didn’t even know they had a 135 until the first time I saw that motor
  2. Ha! I’ve always said I should have started selling stuff to bass fishermen when I turned 18
  3. Give em hell!!!
  4. Meanwhile in Knoxville they are delaying the football game. Because it’s raining. Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Who are they protecting when there are 90,000 fans sitting on metal bleachers?
  5. Can too!!! You can kill and eat them as well. We have like 6 separate goose seasons, the longest of which opened yesterday. One of my buddies got two already You can get a permit to stomp their eggs if harassment fails
  6. It ices up while using it below about 28 degrees but it’s no worse for the wear come spring. It’s just useless when it’s super cold, but not damaged for the future
  7. I just buy a cheap combo at Publix when I go to the beach. Use for the week and discard when you go home haha. But seriously I have used several of my rods and reels down there (which are far from high end) and never had any trouble.
  8. I thought I read a few places that #1 was the perfect size. I went out and got some owner #1 and they have been working. I did have a monster smallmouth sling one back at me on the jump after a long fight but I think that can happen with any hook every now and then.
  9. It’s kind of weird, they run upriver in fall here also. The spring run they go way up into shallows but in fall they go up pretty far and seem to stop in deep holes and stay there all winter long. I’ve been known to have a fish fry darn near every night in winter and I give my neighbors a lot. We caught them right below a dam today, 30,000 cfs.
  10. One of the craziest white bass days I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen some things.............. we got well over 100 before 10:30 am, they were still biting when we left. We went to go shoot clay pigeons on a friends farm and they decided to check a pond that never has ducks on it...... and there were 20 or so! One of my buddies dropped two gadwall, love the holidays! Cast n blast
  11. Everything is a little different in Florida...... hahaha
  12. I fished lake toho with my cousins boyfriend who is a local down there. We threw one ounce Carolina rigs is 4-5 feet of water. He said heavier the better and he was right
  13. I remember those, certainly haven’t seen them for sale recently . Maybe check the new site sponsor here that carries vintage lures, I forGet the website
  14. Yes a tiny spinning fiberglass one! Haha
  15. Oh my, I believe I have clicked this thread in error. I consider a light swimbait a 2.5 inch paddle tail on an 1/8 oz jig head hahaha
  16. I think those are the ones I buy in academy
  17. My buddies limited out on them in New Mexico this spring. They said they were the easiest of the subspecies
  18. I don’t hunt anything but I have several buddies that chase turkeys. There’s a short fall season here but the spring is the traditional season. One buddy of mine just makes the sound of a barred owl (sounds like “who cooks for you, who cooks for y’aaaaaallllll”) when they are charged up strutting And the gobblers will answer back. I’ve heard them answer back to a barking dog as well. One key that I haven’t heard mentioned is find a tree or trees they are sleeping in and watch them fly down after sunrise. After a few days you will know a good spot to set up around where the fly down lands. And of course the eyesight of a turkey is excellent so they will bust you a lot of times, they are dumb at times and impossible at others from what I understand
  19. we Have excellent success at deterring woodpeckers from wooden and stucco houses with a properly placed windsock that is bright, colorful, and has several tentacles that flap in the wind. But you have to hang them right where the bird is pecking. Once it’s up there, they won’t come anywhere near it. The problem is always getting them installed on a chimney chase that comes directly up through the middle of a steep roof........ but anyway what I was getting at is that maybe you could get some installed on short poles along the sea wall and maybe a few out in the yard. Something that MOVES is always better than something that doesn’t when you are trying to scare birds. I’ve done wildlife management for over a decade and learned from two guys that have done it for over 3 decades. Fair warning, most of what you read about wildlife management on the internet is COMPLETELY wrong, not sure how it spreads like it does. Luckily, bass Resource is way cooler than the rest of the internet and you found someone that has experience actually dealing with the problem you are having. If the coyote is cheap maybe try it but I’ve seen them fail many many times. Maybe call the local DNR and ask them what your options are, although depending on who answers the phone that might be about as useful as a fake dog
  20. Well unfortunately that’s about the only way you can modify their behavior without eating them. Is there any way you could modify the habitat? Is it a backyard on a lake ?
  21. I catch a lot of pale bass in muddy water
  22. So does the OP live in California or Minnesota?
  23. The original fluke doesn’t have the split in the belly like the super fluke. I use them on chatterbaits
  24. I like a 3 inch yum dinger or zoom finesse worm for small baits. As far as line I like to use the same line for leader as main line for simplicity purposes. 15-17 lb mono. They aren’t going to see thick line down on the bottom
  25. I’ve used power bait gel and gulp spray. They both reek !!! My girlfriend has banned the use of gulp spray when she’s around after one windy incident in the canoe.......
