  1. My home lake is rather small compared to some of the surrounding ones, but believe it is in the 10 10 in the country for SM, that said I could spend yrs looking for new spots. I am totally content. That said the lakes is some to turn n over and that's going to change everything again
  2. As usual, Tom is spot on. Circle hooks make life easier for me as does owner wacky hooks My wife insists on crushing the barb for her rigs
  3. Yeah, I would add more, but it isn't the end of the world
  4. I have seen more UL break than any other rod and it from guys trying to throw some it isn't rated for........Also, when they start throwing heavier stuff, they have to lob it and the loss of accuracy is evident. Within my circle of friends, many have UL'S Are really used. They often get used passes to kids
  5. You can think of it like a 4 wheel drive 4 Low.... pulls out stumps 4 High... traction at medium speeds
  6. Ragetail is my go-to, but I don't think it matters as much when they are feeding.
  7. I want out today and used them instead of my usual 5" GY worm, and weightless and slow brought me 5 over 2 lbs. For this time of yr, that's very good. It is nice just having another arrow in the quiver
  8. In addition to what was statded above, a Med retrieve in light choppy water works well too. Pauseing randomly, the going fast, get reaction bites
  9. When not fishing.....
  10. Wife's 1st bass ever.....the next one was even bigger
  11. It's slender and get deeper, quicker without weight
  12. GY 3/0 offset worm light wire
  13. Gents, Yesterday I was to lazy to open a new bag of basic 5" black/blue senkos and put on a black 5" swim bait that I picked up on a whim.......glad I did! I am seriously looking to replace my go-to 5 inch with these. Yesterday they of fished all my buddies in numbers and size. These get little talk on the board.........anyone else using these and any thoughts?
  14. Like the others have said, flipping the bail is a must..... .....and feathering the line taught on the spool is important for line management. It becomes second nature Flip Run your hand up the pole or pull back on the tip I often flip as the bait hits the water and all is good
  15. Pure coincidence that I tried a ML cranking rod this week as I am considerering a ML or M for next yr......After an hr, I have decided that I can throw everything better on a Med spinning rod and have a better chance of getting it in the boat.
  16. Great start to a Summer top water day
  17. @BassBuster420, this thread is 3 yrs old......I suspect the OP's question has been resolved ?
  18. Just got off the water with a guy using an ultralight and it was fast......after hooking 1 pounders, I can imaging a Med......simple put, it would be a noodle and frustrating
  19. I run them slower and vary the speed because they get hit on the fall.
  20. The strongest knots are usually doubled, so you really end up with 3 tags, so regardless at least 1 tag would be facing up the line. A doubled uni is a slightly larger connection but tends to be rounder and your able to cut the tags really close.......... the old fishermans knot knot is what you are looking for, but is low in knot strength
  21. When folks go the Med they are usually using it for CB . That is all I use a Med for. Everything else is fast or extra fast...Remember, one companies fast is another EF, and visaversa truth Th be told, I seldom grab a Med even if it is for CB. With flexes the way they are and the improvements in drag, I use a F even for my CB
  22. Honey chad Fire tiger Big money Blue chartreuse The BC being and fire tiger would be my top two
  23. As far as cost, You can't tell the cost of something until the accounting period is over" Like stated above, when backed with mono or old braid, 1 spool could fill 2 reels. I have a reel that has 3 yrs on it. Some will swap the working end with the holding end which could last another three yrs. Then swap out with the balance of the original spool. If you prescribe to this method, 1 spool could last you 10+ yrs. Now....Given increases in prices, it could be cheaper to buy better braid now! Just a thought
  24. I use 2 glx NM/F with identical ci4's. Braids to different leaders. My time on the water is precious and don't want to spend it swapping things out. E6X M/Xf...spinning GLX M/F....casting
  25. I prefer to think of it as saving money..........not buying things that don't need or don't work,,,,,,and it is cheaper than therapy
