  1. I have zero confidence in spinner bait. Last yr I caught 1 fish on them. That said most were complaining with the lack of action on them. Chatter bait is my spinner bait substitute until I get some confidence. that said, it is the only setup I am taking on the water, forcing me to use one
  2. Heck, Black flies are the NH state bird! 100 % deet on your hat, collar long sleeves, socks. i also wear my sun neck gator. woodmans make a good product
  3. Especially new guys with 30 yrs experience !
  4. The rookie mistake and not talked about enough is that noob's allow the line to cross over and it isn't until they loose a few that they learn to tie it properly
  5. Heck, I like them wet to keep me cool and also to keep the bugs off.
  6. This is what I have used and can tie in my sleep. never a problem
  7. If I was going out with the Mrs in those conditions at his time of the yr, drop shot and wacky rig in the calmest part of the lake. I don think the bass will be chasing bait fish on the surface in those temps
  8. I understand, but they are starting to go on sale.....just makes you think...sales this early in the season!
  9. If you are looking for one knot that works for everything, the improved uni is the best choice. truth be to, most of knots that will be named will work fine, It really comes down to the one you can tie perfectly every time........that is why many have wandered from the palomar
  10. I suspect it will replace the 90 as the 90 gets such mixed reviews
  11. I clip it to my shirt ......it works better than teeth
  12. Roadwarrior is right again, That said, my hook-ups went up when I went to 10 lb braid for spinning, with leader.....This allows me to vary my leader depending on situations and I get a much better feel If you take that step, the 10 lb braid would work great for casting, admitting that most here will say it is to small for casting.
  13. Uni to uni for my spinning gear fg for casting. still can't get the crazy Alberto to be as dependable as the two above
  14. Awesome, and looking forward on how to donate Semper-Fi
  15. Black and white are the only 2 you need
  16. Braid with leaders gives you the most options
  17. I trolled two braided spinning reals out today........afterwards I see little difference
  18. We are still pre-spawn at Squam, but not for long. The Merrimack river in bow is good as is Dubby pond in Hooksett
  19. Got to agree, those hooks suck! i replaced mine with shorts and wider gaps , It is hard to beat owner. i went with a lot of 35's but many go 36
  20. You should be able to thin the herd a bit. If you consider the time of year, temps, water clarity, etc you should be able to leave some tackle at home
  21. Big top waters and 1/2 ounce jigs...usually black/ blue or green pumpkin and brown
  22. I throw a Med/XF with a senko every time I go out. Nothing like bringing in a 4 pounder on light gear
  23. I don have either, but given the weight you will be throwing, I would not go Heavy.....Heck, a Med could work
  24. They get to depth quicker. i use a 6:1 ratio and the cadence is comfortable Have used 8 lb Tatsu and 10lb 832 Hope that helps
