  1. WP and the spro rats are my go-to's. The rats out performed almost everything last Fall
  2. The Plano 3700 is 2 inches deep and will be fine for those divers. I think they are 10.00 and work fine
  3. There are many good knots, but the best one is the one you can tie perfectly every time. For me: Improved Uni San Diego jam * Wet the line and know before you tighten Do not tug on the knot to tighten I also use the exact same exact set up
  4. I have a couple CB setups with FC and a couple with Braid and FC leader. 832 sinks significantly better than the other braids I have used and is almost iden to to the FC. I will be swapping over my FC to braid
  5. Not at all, just use 10 wraps for braid
  6. If you can slide the two apart you are tying it properly, you just didn't cut the tags close enough ...it is a jam knot
  7. Thanks for sharing! While it looks promising, I think I will give it the Summer and see what the feedback is in the Fall So far, I would need a good reason to move away from the 832, smackdown and gamma
  8. After experiencing problems decades ago, I can bring myself to buy one. That said I have 3 AK's and have NEVER had a malfunction........Ever!
  9. The Mrs and I both carry the Shield.......of all the guns I own, it is the most comfortable and easiest to conceal
  10. You should be a little more specific. Is it braid , FC or mono and are you interested in just at the terminal end or joining lines. Lucky for you, if you want to keep it simple learn the uni knot. Then the double uni makes sense for joining lines. The improved uni is a step up for terminal tackle...... After mastering that, you can expand to the polamar, San Diego and such, but the Uni will suit all your needs. lately I have been doubling the line and tying the uni with bigger baits.
  11. Welcome aboard Semper Fi
  12. Talking with the gents at Wally World and BPS, they are considered by many to be the bottomed of the barrel..A good thing if you like them, since it keeps the price down
  13. There isn't a bad one mentioned above, but last week I threw the new dredgers and I was really empressed with everything about them. I suspect they are really going to catch on this Summer. The weighted bill gets them down fast and keeps them in the zone longer
  14. If you are happy with it, I see no reason to change. It is not my cup of tea, but who cares!
  15. 10 lbs 832 8 lbs D.C. Leader get my weight less TRigs down just fine.....really!
  16. I have a few and it is getting to be that time of the year. I just picked up another one from Bed Bath and Beyond, that actually cools as it get moist. Sun protection and cooling, you bet
  17. Saying yes to bringing my mother and father in-law with me for an evening session ! Doesnt get much worse.......except he just invited himself again for Sunday ...
  18. We agree, personally, I am not as good with spinning gear for accuracy......I have friends that are
  19. Would you thanks be to much to ask for a mark at the mid way part of the spool!
  20. NHBull replied to gim's topic in Fishing Tackle
Frabile always with trebles .....and with knees as bad as mine, anything over 2. I do not mind loosing the smaller ones
  21. I see spi gear for light finesse techniques. If you want to be able to fig two set-ups, yes. last year, that was my thinking so I purchased another and now wish I had gone with a light weigh baitcaster. I am finding that accuracy trumps all
  22. I have PP on two rigs. If it wasn't inexpensive and carried at Wally World, I doubt it would be as popular. I use 832 for anything I want to sink.
  23. Never heard about knot break offs du to a GLX.....especially on long cast. i think you have a knot problem. it could be moisture it could be the type of knot ( palomar) it could be tugging on the hook to tighten the knot. try doubling the line and tie a uni, moistened with chap stick. it you want to sell the GLX, I'm your huckleberry!
  24. I have only used a 5-7" sensor (salted) since there is always a slight current down there
  25. Don't hesitate on the ci4. The 70 is good but the ci4 is a notch above.
