  1. Sounds like a spinner caster situation. Many over fill the spool. Keep a solid 1/8 of space. Line conditioner is your friend. Flip the bail by hand If you have a boat, take off the terminal tackle and let 100 yrs unwise itself while troling. When responding use a cloth first strait with kvd conditioner. If this doesn't work, go braid with leader
  2. Many guys use in is as main lines without any problems and it is a great product. Having 1000 yrs would definitely influence my decision. I would put in is in the same category as shooter and sniper and sniper. My buddies like in is for cranks...no wrong answer, just personal preference.
  3. Tatsu for main lines. Everything else for leaders
  4. Arnise spray into a BPS bag of senkos has worked good enough for me to continue the tractics
  5. It only cost you a cup of coffee and a donut so no big deal, but I bet you keep in on 1 day as a main line. Hell, I am not fond of shooter and sniper as 20 lb mainline.......that is Tatsu area.
  6. It depends what I am using for bait. On a spinning rod, it can be as long as 12 ft. Sometimes I bring it back to the reel......other times 5 feet. No set rule and sometimes depends how lazy I am.
  7. The timing of this thread is great. We started a fishing club for students and today we decided everyone was going to use the Uni to uni if the knot wasn't going through the guides FG and Alberto if taking it through a few....
  8. I am with you..... My only hold out is shallow crankbaits, and that too might change. I have many friends that are 100% braid to leader..
  9. If you are set on the e6x, get the med jig rod......I love everything mine and it is very versatile. I have seen them for 175.00

  11. This spring I am try a 7:1 and going to decide for myself. I am naturally a slow retriever, so I hope it works to my advantage
  12. Great bait, I have several and gave out a few for Christmas.
  13. 600 yards leads me to believe your thinking of it for main line. I just think we have to put a value on time and experience and I think there are lines that would serve you better. As leader, go for it, if not, pass
  14. LL Bean gortex shell. 100.00 Lifetime warranty!
  15. A FB and a swim jig is where I started and glad I did so. Soon, you will find a preference and a line or 2 you like I keep it simple...open water, slightly small Guage hook,.......grass, slightly larger. Brown Green pumpkin Black/ blue
  16. I just got the 845c and am very happy!
  17. I use safety pins and keep a trimmed cardboard paper on the bottom of a 3700
  18. I gave a cplofloonatics@yahoo.com GLX and E6x's. The GLX is hard more sensitivity and money well spend for the techniques that require feel
  19. Try 41's this spring g
  20. I use an e6x swimbait rod and also use for list flipping and large deep crankbaits...not perfect , but works
  21. Braid with leader is the answer..it is a compromise, but I think it the best option......... The next option is just FC, while not perfect for top waters, I rarely see it impending the lures performance. It barley breaks surface tention
  22. 20 lb braid 10-15 lb FC........I use several rods for these but happen to have braid on them
  23. I went to 7 and 8's for everything except crankbait
  24. With a little searching you can find options in that area. While many speak highly for the ugly stick, I disagree. Way to much of a noodle for me. While I don't think you need to spend a lot for a crankbait, if you pass on that next case of beer, the dobyns becomes affordable ?
