  1. My 20 lb 832 sinks just as good as my 15 tastu. Tested is for a couple weeks. As soon as it breaks surface tension, game on. I am not sure I will be using any FC moving forward......except for leader...
  2. Well......I got blanked...... but see the LM rolling into river......just a week or 2 away from spawn
  3. Welcome aboard...... i am sure many will chime in, but shorter will give you a bit more acuracy but the limited skipping I have done was with a 7. I don't know about most, but I find skipping easier with a crankbait rod, but may be in the minority. Additionally, I hate to give up distance for a technique I seldom use. sorry to be little help......just saying welcome
  4. Blanked again yesterday, but the LM are showing up on the river feeding the dam
  5. Thanks, that is exactly what I have been throwing......And a rat....which has out performed the WP
  6. The caffeine shad would be one of my top choices. Wally World is full of great options. the Hulla stick is also one that though be in your box along with the fat ika plastics that allow for skin
  7. I am the larger baits in the 1.5 ounce with the SB rod rated for 2 ounces my smaller swimmer are being thrown on a GLX jig rod
  8. Gents, Appologies for what should be common knowledge, but can some explain to me the difference between the two, or what they look for in each. I have found it difficult to distinguish between the two. Presently I am using my swimmer for both and am happy, but wonder if I am missing something thanks in advance, Al
  9. I have a H e6x CBR that is rated for an ounce that I used for most cranks and spinning baits. i get a lot out of it and happy I got it......and they can be had for around 179.00 that said my friends in kayaks don't carry 7 footers
  10. I am going tomorrow morning. Water temp is 45 Air temp will be about the same. At a minimum I figure I will learn something......and may get lucky!
  11. That's for the input. think I saved a few $$$$$$ today
  12. Gents, i really want want to start playing in the weeds and grass this year and the Smaller Hudds weedless caught my eye. The reviews at TW are great, but I often see members here with contrary options. Any input is appropriated Thanks in advance Al
  13. I demoed the 70 last Fall and experienced the same thing. My buddy used it for an hr and never had a problem. It was "user error "......I was using to much arm and shoulder. The minute I lightened up to just wrist, it stopped.....the bait was 1/4 ounce crank on 10 lb PP.
  14. I was in your position last yr. My buddy has a 5:1. After watching him. I decided to get an additional 6:1 and happy I did. We seldom get anything over 5 lb, and I think it is easier for me to slow down than to speed up. Additionally, it is freekin tiresome to crank a 5 for hrs. Again, just personal preference
  15. Got to agree with Mr Turtle. A 6.1 or 7 also allows it to serve multiple task
  16. I just got one that is fishing and hunting for my grandson who turns 1 next month...well worth it in NH
  17. I am trying to streamline things i usually go through a lot of Rage Tails Rage swimmer fat ika hula grub fat keitecks
  18. Bingo! sidenote......832 sank faster than PP ( on a spinning setup) The reason we have the same equipment is that we are related to a VIP and get wholesale pricing
  19. Diving rates were almost identical. Casting distance was better with braid. Overruns were worse with FC I felt better connected to the bait with braid, my buddy didn notice a difference. We were both using various new dredgers
  20. The water level has been high since ice-out that was 3 weeks ago. Temps are around 44*, Thanks for the input
  21. Gents, With Winter run off at all time highs and 3 days of rain, levels on the lake at close to an all time high for pre-spawn. That said, it looks totally different and the predictable spots aren't. Any input is helpful. thanks, Al
  22. Last weekend my buddy and I both have e6x CB rods with ci4'......I had 8 lb tatsu and he had 10 lb 832 with leader.......Tomorrow I am putting 10lb 832
