  1. Darren, I have used it often going from 10 to 8. The trick is to pulls hard in it every 1/3 when tying it,,,,,,,, But agree that the lines are so small that other knots (alberto) is easier to tie with less room for error
  2. Armilo..... Stretch is a relative word. I use it for for all cranks and it really shine on the bigger ones. 11 lb is very versatile What goes through my mind is that these resemble FC so closely, why not keep it simple and go with the FC...just saying
  3. The FG is a knot that that is often followed by the phrase," I tie it on land but never on the boat" I found a video that showed using the thumb and baby finger to keep the main line tight, and the other hand to weave. Now I could tie the d**n thing at night. Will link for the link and post it later. I sometimes use 15' leader and seldom notice it Found it:
  4. The Uni and uni-to uni is the only knots you need to know. They work for everything. The only knots I use Uni FG Modified Alberto
  5. At TW it says "split ring size", does that mean these are pefered with split rings?
  6. 10 lb Braid with seaguar blue 8 lb
  7. All good advice. Also......if you are on a boat, take the lure off and let most of the line out while heading back to to ramp/dock. That will get a lot of twist out
  8. I am with Keith on this, but sometimes I use the trailer hooks to stabilize the bait in the water
  9. I have not used those particular clips, but keep in mind the size of the bait and where the eye is. The closer the bait eye is to "v", where the bill meets the bait, the smaller the clip needed.....if that makes sense. I have some decoys and pline on the way....I have also used speed clip, which can be a pain , given these old eyes.
  10. I am moving to snaps for my cranks. Last yr I did some test in the pool attaching to split rings and not. I did not detect a discernable difference. I wonder why some are so attament about removing the Rings......also think the Normans hold better on rings......just saying
  11. I fish my swim jigs similarly to my chatterbaits
  12. Actually the arnise has peaked my interest as it does with Bang.

  14. I don't deal with muskie, but 10-20 lb braid with 8 lb FC leader. The little round in the line compensates for the last of stretch due to the braid
  15. Howdy Folks I was in BPS today and one of the local "semi-pros " was saying he uses Mikes Lunker Lotion on a lot of soft plastics......Anyone have first hand experience with this, Thanks Al
  16. I too have been thinking about going to snaps, but trying to find one with real positive reviews is challenging.....what works for you, al
  17. I just was doing some research prior to pulling the trigger and I see a few complaining on significant breakage. Think I will give it some time
  18. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
  19. I have 6 and love them......perfect for my usage
  20. I am planning on stopping now friends the season, and finders out what I uses and just look at. Last yr I was very content with a handful of jig, swimmers, cranks and worms. What doesn't get used this summer will be g vendors to my kids and I will replace what I have confidence in.......really!
  21. Bang arnice sprayed into a bag and sit for a week
  22. Just pulled the trigger in some 30lb.....curious kinds!
  23. Hard to argue with this...but must say, I think you should reconsider. You could accomplish much more if you went with braid and a handful of leaders. Given some of the knots options, I don't see the benefit of you decision
  24. At night I keep it simple Jigs and top waters.
  25. I just go to the mcstick and don't worry about it. It works fine out of the box and the trebles are fine
