Hard Jerk Bait : Braid + FC Leader ?
As long as you match your leader to the size and style of jerk/surface daily you will be fine. Truth be told I run the absolute smallest leader I can and catch more fish than my counter part that usually runs 20 lb braid and 15 lb leader...I go through a lot of 4 and 6 lb leader

Ugly stick elite question
A 1 piece will usually be thicker than it's 2 piece counter part.....it will usually cast and retrieve better. If transportation isn't a problem get the 1 piece

Ci4 vs comparable Daiwa
Gents, I am getting ready to pull the trigger on 3 casting reels. I have tried the ci4 and loved it, but am wondering what would Daiwa's equivalent be, and any feedback on both would be appreciated. Apologies for a rookie question, Al

Will you use old fishing line?
Line is cheep, use it for backing. The last thing you need is trouble when on the water

Help me choose...:)
You are asking a lot from one set up. Given rattle traps are in the mix, I would look at the 6.5

Crankbait setup - whats the best gear ratio?
This is the first time I heard anyone say the ci4 didn't through light weight bait well, but that is a separate issue. After a lot of demos, a 6.3 is what I am going to. Just personal preference

If you just want a fish on the line, it is hard to beat a 4" senko wacky rigged

Is power pro much better than spiderwire?
I don't have tons of experience, but know what I don't like.....spiderwire. PP and 832 in 20 lb test

Favorite Shimano Casting Reel?
I have 2 C14's on the way......love them

Shooter Defier Armilo
That is what I am thinking,,,,main line

Shooter Defier Armilo
Folks, I really prefer using braid and varying my leaders depending in situation. I am dedicating a setup for crankbait ( MM/F) baitcaster.. I know most say mono, but I hate everything I have tried. Was looking at Armilo and was wondering if it might be a good compromise in this situation? Thanks for any input....also open to other useages for this line, Al

What Gear Ratio For Crankbait Rod?
I am in the same boat....since I want to limit my rigs to 4, I am going with the 6.3. The 5.5 is a bit limiting.......for me I just want one CB rod
-
What kind of line?
For versatility 15 to 20 lb braid. Uni to uni would work great for 4 to 12 lb mono or FC. I too like power pro
-
What kind of line?
If I was going to do everything with one set up, it would be braid and swap out leaders to accommodate what you want

Surgeons knot
he only reason the FG is hit or miss is if you don't finish it correctly. If you Google "FG knot failures", it is always in the hitches or tag end. I use it when I am using a long leader and the knot makes it back to the spool
-
Surgeons knot
I feel the same about the double uni....no right or wrong answer......but it is not as strong as the Uni or Albright and to achieve the same strength, the number of wraps have to be increased making the knot bigger....
-
Number of turns for the improved clinch knot
All my leader is FC and use 10 wraps, it is just easier to remember. That said, the Uni is the only know that has never failed me. The Palomar is very popular, but I have seen it daily more than any other knot. It is because folks don't pay attention to keeping the line parallel throughout the knot.
