  1. Started last yr throwing the 5" and had success, when things got slow I went to the 4" and my luck improved 3 fold. This Fall the 4" was outperforming the 5 by a large margine and the size was up also.... Explains why wally world is always low on the 4's
  2. 10 lb Braid, 8-10 lb flourocarbon leader
  3. A Medium, Fast other X Fast will get you more options,
  4. I have one that I use for rats and things alike
  5. Howdy Folks, This Winters project is to swap out all my crankbait trembles. Is there a consensus on the best manufacturer and type? Thanks in advance, Al
  6. Thanks for the input. I have a triple tube and it looks like one will fit hustle off center. Taking the plunge this weekend.....will report back in the spring
  7. Folks, I have a heavy 24 ft pontoon boat and the Mrs would rather us not be a 2 boat family. Until the grandchildren get older, I have to make due. I am on an open lake and thinking of putting a trolling motor on the bow for the wind- less days and mainly to avoid having to drop an anchor. I see mixed reviews. Any first hand experience would help. Thanks in advance Al
  8. Since there is no universal standard, it is a tough question. My buddy loves his ultralights but given he uses mono, all are xfast.
  9. 10lb on spinning gear, 20 lb on casting.....no need to use rope when twine provides better action
  10. Not a good sport for those with OCD. I have a ton, but truth be told, I could get by with a 1/3 of it. Guest that join me usually get a senko rigged T or W and ALWAYS get fish
  11. FB and Swim Skirted Jig craw tail, pumpkin Original senior Chatter bait along the bottom
  12. If I don't have a mod action rod when using braid with treble, I loosen up the drag a bit, it isn't perfect but got me thru the Summer
  13. In my neck of the woods few are using more than 15 lb braid on casters. Most are at 10.
  14. Most guys loose money when buying and selling boats....unless you are buying used or on a pro-program....if this isn't the case, try to buy your last boat first. It can hurt up front but saves you money in the long haul. .......Semper-Fi
  15. Similar situation here. Can crank both R and Loomis but rod control is much better in the Rain. I too have carpal tunnel issues, so am thinking of splitting the quiver Baits requiring more rod action, real L,,,,,,,surface and swim baits,R
  16. 10lb braid with 10lb FC leader for almost everything
  17. I picked up a couple for me and a buddy and got big hits in the morning then later tossing it around stumps.....being able to rotate it 180degrees and only, over it a couple inches is great.....
  18. Thanks again gents,,,,, Looks like Christmas is coming early!
  19. Tom I have tried reading my spin casters in both hands and the left feels more natural. Last weekend I was practicing with a RH BC for an hour or so and and it did feel good given the grip is different. My concern is that I feel bites and have better action with my RH, but these wrist are starting to bark.....that said, changing hands felt awkward......

Thanks for the kind "welcomes". I feel like I already know many of since I have been reading your threads for days.
  21. Thanks for the input. These days I do spend more one time as I find it cheaper than upgrading later. Now I just need to decide if I want to go with "lefts". A bit of carple tunnel in the right may impact that decision...thanks again, Al
  22. Howdy Folks, and apologize in advance for a question that I am sure has been covered in depth. I spend all my time a crystal clear Lake and seldom are in the weeds and seldom go deeper than 25 ft. I have a Med/xF spinning setup for seko's and light bait and a M/H F spinning set up for everything else. Looking for advise on baitcaster set ups for jigs and one for cranks...I should also say that I get killer deals on shim another and Loomis. Thanks for any input, Al
