  1. @Junger now you’ve done it! Here’s three minutes and third four seconds of American badassery!
  2. When I was a kid my stepdad had just gotten home from the UP and was doing work outside. When he came in he was sitting at the table and I noticed a brown speck on his back. I thought it was a chunk of dirt or something so I flick it to get it off his neck and out popped a bunch of legs! That freaked the heck out of my 8 year old self. ?
  3. Still gives me goosebumps hearing that song. I sure hope the new movie isn’t a letdown. My 11 year old son is onboard with going to watch it with me. This guy did the Beverly Hills Cop tune as well.
  4. We sure did! The funny thing is, @slonezp doesn’t even have a remote for his tv he just walks up, hits it, and BOOM it’s on!
  5. I figured since we’re paying the bill for this repair, I would at least take it with me. ?
  6. Post your PayPal info and we’ll all send you money and a shopping list. ?
  7. Here is a $2000 piece of plastic. One of my techs missed a gas service on a project they were locating. The contractor was installing fiber optic cable and kinked the service enough this section needed to be replaced. Thankfully it didn’t cut the service so no danger to the public. It never fails, damages always happen Friday afternoon.
  8. Can anyone guess what I had to drink tonight? ? @TnRiver46 your guess doesn’t count. You either @Jigfishn10!
  9. I figured it was probably an OSHA standard. I’m interested in how this is going to work as well. We did a precon walk through last week and the site foreman for the excavation company wasn’t thrilled about this job. He said, “I’m retiring at the end of the year, but it might be sooner!” He also said the August deadline isn’t going to happen. ?
  10. I’m not sure how they’re going to dig under those utilities with power equipment. Here in Michigan if you’re deeper that 4’ and people are in the hole you need shoring to support the sides, so there will be that.
  11. Who wants to be an excavator? Just got done helping one of my techs locate the gas on this sewer project in downtown Grand Rapids. I’ve drawn the gas lines (yellow) and a sewer (green). In the background those sewer pipes are 96” diameter and they are going parallel with the road. The caution tape in the background is a big gas vault. Did I mention one of the gas mains is a 6” 145#? Did I mention the sewer is going 24’ down? So all of these facilities will need major supporting and the trenches will need a ton of shoring because there will be a ton of hand digging to get under all this mess. I’ll be checking in on this through the spring and summer to see how they do this!
  12. Both are good options. Both are user friendly with a slight nod to Garmin. I’m a budget guy so I went with Garmin because I could get the UHD units for a decent price, I just needed a simple sd card for QuickDraw and that gave me all the memory I could ever use, and a $40 (I believe that was the price) Ethernet cable and both were networked together. Going with route Humminbird is a bit more. That being said, I’d love Humminbird 360 imaging on the front of my boat!
  13. While my G3 doesn’t go 30 that I know of (50hp) trimmed down for too long it’ll porpoise pretty good!
  14. I feel for you, we just went through this a few weeks ago.
  15. Yup I’d say buy a lotto and it were me I’d probably have to buy some new trousers and clean the drivers seat!
  16. It’s April, there’s not supposed to be snow!
  17. And it was almost our National bird. Could you imagine every Memorial Day or Independence Day people posting pictures of a turkey with an American flag flying in the background? They’re fun to hunt and a beautiful bird fanned out from a distance but they sure are ugly up close! ?
  18. Yup easterns. A little back story on Michigan's turkey population, 30-40 years ago you could only find them in southern Michigan and to hunt them you entered a lottery. I guess it was very rare to see them even here in central Michigan. After a lot of work with the DNR and NWTF you can buy licenses over the counter, private land seasons range from two weeks to a month and a half.
  19. Bearded hens are legal here in Michigan too. Now that I’m no longer working weekends I’m going to try and get a bird during the month long hunt. The only issue with the month long hunt is it’s the month of may and by the second week of May they’re usually henned up and nearly impossible to pull them away from their girls. I prefer turkey hunting over deer hunting since I quit going to Nebraska deer hunting. Going out west for a Merriam turkey is on my bucket list.
  20. Here’s what our company gives us out in the field. I’ve never seen one before and don’t know if it works or not but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
  21. I don’t know what it is about them but I could never get them dialed in and would back lash quite frequently. The Blackmax and Promax I can cast a mile with those but that Silvermax just plain sucked. I know over the years there have been others on here who said the same thing.
  22. I’ve gotten that a few times over the years and was skeptical as well. The one time I was actually interested in what they were offering. Kastking was a sponsor here so I asked Glenn and he thought it was strange too but he reached out to his contacts at Kastking and it was legit. Still strange. By the time he heard back the offer had expired. Oh well I was terribly disappointed.
  23. 6poundbass is on spring break this week so the Mrs. and I decided to take him, our nephew, and the Baitmonkey to Cabelas. The upgrade continues and I grabbed a Stunna 112 and 112+1 since they’re all the rage right now.
  24. I bought a Garmin Echomap unit (used) and my Sidevu had the same issue but ClearVu worked fine. It ended up being the SideVu crystals were damaged.
