The Official Bass Resources Forum Facial Hair Poll ~
I’m a calico, my hair used to be blonde (now it’s a lighter brown, my beard is red, my chin is brown, my mustache (which I don’t grow) is blonde as light as my hair used to be, and my eyebrows are almost black. Not sure what the heck is going on! ?

A-Jay's 4th Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
After the warm day yesterday (65) and rain last night mud season is here. In my travels today I saw a few four wheelers on the local lakes today so there’s still a ton of ice. Back to the 30’s today and this coming week.

The Official Bass Resources Forum Facial Hair Poll ~
About 25 years ago I tried the surfer look with somewhat longer hair. I’ve always kept it shorter, maybe 2” up top. Now I don’t have squat for hair so I keep it about as short as you can without using a razor (not quite ready for that). The beard, I keep it short and trimmed. Once a year during the winter I’ll let it grow a bit until it starts to bug me then I’ll trim it back. I just trimmed it last week actually after letting it grow for a couple months. The longer it got the more grey I noticed so that was a bad idea. The wife would kill me if I took a razor and went to bare skin, she says I have a baby face.

Hartwell classic 2022
Did you watch the weigh in, in person? Maybe Live had some malfunctioning microphones or it was very quiet in there.

Garmin Echomap with LakeVu and small lakes?
My Echomap units have many small lakes in my area, 50 acre lakes.

Post a photo a day!
I’d guess it was a micro burst and maybe it got between the houses and was amplified like a big wind tunnel? I know in downtown Grand Rapids the wind gets between those big buildings and the pressure has nowhere to go and it seems to be more intense down some of those streets.

Basketball now
Congrats JB, you seem to have a knack for coaching, having kids willing and eager to put forth the effort needed doesn’t help either.

Death, it's going to happen
Between my mom and stepdad there are five of us. My sister and I do not talk at all, my stepbrother and I we’re not not close but we pick up where we left off when we see each other, same with one stepsister, and the other I’ve not seen or talked to in probably 15+ years. My mom and stepdad have done pretty well for themselves, have chunks of land around the state, and have plenty of things at home as well. I hounded them for years to go to an estate planner because I guarantee you it would not be pretty otherwise. My stepbrother and I could be adults, and maybe the one stepsister, but my sister and the other not a chance. Finally they listened to me and according to my mom everything is spelled out to a T. Hopefully that means it would go smoothly, but I don’t know how that works. Hopefully your parents have done or do the same.

Death, it's going to happen
I guess I’ll take on the burden of your fishing stuff then, to relieve your family of it. The least I can do for you Paul.

Death, it's going to happen
When my uncle died several years ago he didn’t have a funeral, visitation, or anything. I talked to my mom about it and how I thought it was strange. She went on to say that’s what her and my stepdad have in their wills. I was taken back by this and asked her why in the heck they would do this. After explaining to me their thoughts on it and they didn’t see the need to put the burden of planning everything on whoever is still around to plan everything, attend everything. It’s engrained in our culture to have those type of things after someone dies. Typically the death of a loved and the days and weeks leading up to the death is an emotional roller coaster (unless the death is unexpected) then to drag it on for another few days afterwards. Like I had previously said I originally didn’t understand the thinking behind it but now I’m totally onboard with it. As far as my dead corpse, I’m going to be cremated and I’ll have my ashes spread around Sneaky Lake. I don’t want my son or wife to keep my ashes and have to worry about hauling me around if they move or having to worry about having to display me or feeling guilty if I’m put in a closet or something like that. ?

A-Jay's 4th Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
We’re inching closer to the deadline to get all permanent ice shanties off the lake and the load limits on the roads are being enforced next week so we’re heading in the right direction. That being said there’s probably still a foot of ice on the lake and 2-3’ of frost in the ground.
