BROWN BASS TOOLS ~ Questions & Answers
I watched an episode of Zona’s awesome fishing show a year or two ago and he was throwing an A-rig for smallmouth. He painted the tail of one green. Every single bass he caught was on the one with a subtle green tail! It was quite fascinating, seeing them hit that one. It wasn’t completely green just a few green dabs enough. How they could notice that little difference, while the rig is moving at a decent clip, and in water, is beyond me.

Our snow is pretty much gone. Today is bitter, tomorrow low 30’s, then almost 7-10 days of 40’s.

Dogs
There’s always been a dog in our house growing up. My wife and I have always had several. Losing them is extremely difficult. They are a ton of fun and their individual personalities are great. My wife just finished her certification to be a dog groomer and is doing great starting her own traveling groomer business. My Puppy Hank: Our girl Lola

The 50’ deal came up on another site and the Garmin guys were saying 200’ including a beta tester. This does look pretty cool and doesn’t cost a fortune (as long as you have the LiveScope).

Heading to Texas
Enjoy the trip. Texas is on my short list of states to visit. Having lived in Michigan my entire life I’ve seen the Great Lakes several times, so when I went to Myrtle Beach for my senior year spring break I was looking forward to seeing the ocean for the first time. When I saw it my first thought was “oh it’s just like Lake Michigan” Lol . I guess we’re a little spoiled here in the Great Lakes State.

Winter weather ‘19-‘20
Well east of me. Usually it comes from Lake Michigan and the east side of the state gets nothing, so they can have that crap for once.

Ha ha that’s awesome. These ones are nice. A lake just down the road has some that aren’t so nice.

Some yearly routines from anglers that I have noticed.
My yearly routine, I cry when the lakes freeze and celebrate when they thaw.

Winter weather ‘19-‘20
I’m with @A-Jay as long as there’s no wind and above zero it’s not too bad out especially if the sun is out (which rarely happens in the winter). It could be 40 and breezy/windy and I’m cold.

Post a photo a day!
Snow day for the kids. 6poundbass opened the truck door when they got in town and it looks like a snowman pooped on his head! The picture is sideways but you get the idea.

Winter weather ‘19-‘20
Our forecast was for a rain snow mix and the snow would melt upon touchdown. We wake up this morning to 3 inches of super heavy wet snow and no school. It’s now 36* out so a lot of this will probably melt. Try again weather man!

Looking back at my prediction (March 25), Looking at how thing are, the extended forecast through the end of the month, and the lack of snow and ice I’m confident I’ll be close to hitting the mark. I hope I didn’t just screw myself with that. ?

Chickamauga tournament delayed
Can’t please everyone. “Use your best judgement” no longer works because common sense is extinct and if someone were to get hurt, sink a boat, or even die it wouldn’t be their fault it would be the organization’s fault. Along with common is accountability in the extinct category. It’s always someone else’s fault. Remember the FLW event last year or the year before on Big O? A co died, that pro has to live with that the rest of his life, replaying the moment they both went over, and playing what if the rest of his life. If a boat went flying down Chickemauga and hit an object barely submerged because of the flood and the angler was ejected and killed, everyone would be up in arms saying it should have been postponed. You can’t make everyone happy and at the end of the day, they’re just fish. I don’t need to fish tough conditions or a flooded parking lot to prove I’m a man.

A-Jay's 2nd Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
Last weekend we set tip ups on our lake, the ice was around 4” thick. We set some again yesterday and it was 6”. The thickness is going in the wrong direction for my liking. This time last year we were close to a foot thick so I’ll take what we have now.
