  1. That’s a very nice Tom! Congrats. Our season starts Saturday.
  2. Nice work @Smirak !
  3. I’d guess he isn’t making chump change for these few days. I could be persuaded to come out of retirement to talk for a few hours.
  4. So sorry to hear that. Making that decision is never easy. Been there plenty of times. Make each day count. Unlimited treats are a plus!
  5. Great responses. I was you years ago. You need to research what 2d, side imaging, and down imaging do. You’ll learn that the terms I use aren’t generic either. There’s tons of articles on here and tons on YouTube including videos from here. After you do your research, go to a store that sells them and play with them. Knowledge is power. The more knowledge you have the more comfortable you’ll be with your purchase. This purchase/purchases aren’t cheap so the more you know the better off you’ll be.
  6. Uni and double uni is all I tie. Never failed.
  7. I checked the members map and I’m not seeing anyone in the Arctic Circle so, yes you are. 😂
  8. Congrats on the Master Angler award.
  9. Not sure how I missed this one. I didn’t even check the date and fell for it until I read the price. Kind of goes back to my post last night and my Spanish saying for myself….estupido gringo. 😂
  10. Glad to hear your treatment is coming to an end. Make those days count!
  11. @Jig Man that is a very helpful tool. However, when it comes to watery clarity and say smallmouth, a satellite image is key. Waste level helps a tons and water clarity goes hand in hand but to see an image, ales all the difference. If you look up Mark Zona’s video of Lake ST. Clair for instance. He ran into this exact same scenario. It was flooded and dirty. He Hit a wall of mud and had to change on the fly and he hilled them! This is specific to St. Clair. It goes for any impoundment that relies on river flow. Or any lake that receives 3” + of rain over a week.
  12. Oone of my favorite songs and so true!
  13. My Spanish is very limited. However, having worked with plenty of Spanish speaking crews, I quickly learned, estupido gringo! I’m not afraid to call myself out, even in Spanish. 😂 I learned it, they didn’t teach it, just for clarification. They were very respectful.
  14. The Deep Dive App has satellite views that go back 30 days. We’ve received a ton of rain here over the past week or so with more coming tonight. I decided to check out Lake St. Clair and you can definitely see what all that rain has done. 7 days ago 2 days ago Tools like this could save you a wasted trip or help plan ahead for tough conditions.
  15. I’d shed a tear every time I filled up.
  16. We have definitely received some significant rain and there is more to come tonight (predicted). The rivers are swollen for sure and I know you could use it to get the snow base off @A-Jay .
  17. I couldn’t get three dogs and a kid to pose for a Christmas picture. You got a dog, a kid, and 17 iguanas to pretend to sunbathe. That is skill my man!
  18. My retirement goal is to move a couple hours north to be closer to the world class smallmouth fisheries northern Michigan has to offer. During the winter, I’d like to spend a month or two in Texas chasing their big largemouth. Maybe checkout Tennessee and Florida once in a while but mostly Texas. I’d like to sneak in a Baccarac trip here and there too.
  19. I’ve had KK reels for years and have been super happy with them. @Glenn you’re right about people and pricing. I had a friend put some waders on Facebook for free. They were nice neoprene waders he got for free. He figured he’d return the favor and give them away. Nobody wanted them. He re-listed them for $10 and within 30 minutes someone offered him $20 if he’d hold them for a day until the guy could pick them up! 😂
  20. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
  21. We’ve had to let 6 dogs go in 20 years. I can tell you this, no one can tell you when it’s time for you to say goodbye. We’ve seen them decline and did everything we could. Some we waited too long and back legs gave out and after we let them go, we felt like crap because we waited too long. We’ve also let one go and played the what if game and questioned whether we could’ve done more. From my experience these emotions are normal when you’re the one making the decision. I’ve even given advice to others to let them go with dignity only to not follow my own advice. We humans tend to wait too long because we don’t want to lose them and delay our own pain meanwhile we’re prolonging theirs. At the end of the day it will never be easy and for me probably the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made and will have to again.
