Cashion flipping stick.
thats probably what I'll do at least til I see how effective it is on my lakes.only thing is ill need to use a 3/4 -1 oz weight which is a little over weighted for the rod but it will work..

Cashion flipping stick.
actually yes ill be pitching. I have 10 st.croix legend tournament rods .they are what I use for 90% of my fishing. I have 7ft med heavy that may work. also thought about getting a 74 heavy and using it for football jigs etc also.

Cashion flipping stick.
so I'm in the market for a flipping stick.its not a technique I've used much but I wanna try flipping deep milfoil. its not something I think many guys do on our lakes. anyway I don't wann spend a fortune on the rod but I want something decent. I have a Cashion light spinning rod that I like for neds etc so I thought I may try the flipping stick. anybody have any experience with one?

Old School Winter Bass Set Up : Light Ball Head Jig Head + Single Tail Grub
we used to (and some of us still do) hammer fish in winter or early spring with a 3 inch Manns stingray grub in smoke or avocado on a 1/8 jig head . fish it with a slow steady retrieve with alot of stops or hop it. it was ned before ned and still works.

How the Ned Rig transformed my fishing over the years
right tool for the right job . nothing more nothing less.

"Ned" fishing....
it's all marketing. the basic idea is not really new and ned will tell you that. the buoyancy of the elaztech adds a little touch but the basics are very similar to slider fishing which has been around 40 years. some of the new stuff works but I'm sure not much better than the original. the basic concept is a ligh weight small fitness plastic moved in a slow natural way and will catch fish everywhere especially under tough bite conditions.

Gulp minnows for bass
the 3 inch ones work well on drop shot for bass and will catch just about anything else too.

Helix trolling motor compatibilities
if both your console unit and your bow unit are networkable (the n designation) the yes you can connect with an ethernet cable and all your waypoints etc will transfer. however for mapping you will need a different card for each unit. alsoif you fish deep structure at all the ultrex i pilot link with the humminbird is the way to go. absolutely incredible technology.

Sticking with it #embracethegrind...
the whole summer can be a grind on my lakes around here. july august and september are just really tough. i know several guys who have fished these lakes for 20 plus years and they even struggle. its not unusual for me to fish 6-7 hours and catch 2 keepers and a couple of dinks. or nothing....but you gotta keep grinding, and more importantly keep thinking and experimenting because every once in a while you put something together and put a good bunch in the boat. never know when its gonna happen and it all builds on itself and helps you put the puzzle together long term. all part of the process.

Jackson Coosa Hd
great yak for rivers and small lakes. if your in big lakes not the best. you may want to look at something a little longer also. wilderness atak 140 etc.

For the tackle storage, bags, utility box experts
the advanced angler bags for me are hard to beat. if you get the large i believe it will hold 10 3700 boxes. of course you dont have to put 10 in there. you can pu 6 and a worm binder etc.I would store all my terminal together, the plano edge terminal is great but expensive. the academy terminal is vey good but much cheaper.also the 2 pockets on the front of the advanced angler bag holds1 3600 in each . you could dedicate those to terminal. that thing with the huge pocket on the back holds a ton of stuff. as far as flambeau their bags may be good I dont know never owned one but i dont care for boxes, the latches tend to fall off and they seem to warp easily. just my opinion.

Jigs and mismatched trailers
i almost always mix mine. in other words if im fishing a brownish jig i usually use black or gp trailer or with a black jig ill use a gp trialer. unless im in very clears water then i usually use all brown.

Do You REALLY Enjoy Fishing?
exactly.sometimes when its getting dark and i havent caught a fish in hours i think 'man if i just had another hour i could figure them out."

Do You REALLY Enjoy Fishing?
yeah i love it.have since i was 13 or so. i was a hardcore bowhunter for about 20 years and didnt fish as much then but came back with a vengance about 8 years ago.I love catching fish of course and i guess it always starts like that. but now im in love with the whole process. arranging tackle, researching fishing, how to get better . how to read maps , learning the behavior of bass.I must love it because sometimes july august and september can be brutal around here. bites are hard to come by but i still go every chance i get.I think now its more about solving the puzzle figuring out how to get a bite , where the hell are the fish.

General electronics advice, new boat
buy the best you can afford. especially if your gonna be fishing offshore alot. i like humminbird but thats personal preference. i just think they are easier to use but all the major brands make good units. get side imaging on the back if you can afford it. down imaging on the front. gps with maps of your lakes are a must for offshore fishing for me. all this is my opinion and it depends on your lakes. the lakes i fish tend to be fairly deep and clear with alot of grass in the shallows. our fish tend to go deep offshore in summer so thats where the side imaging and gps come in.

Keitech's vs Yum Pulse
as some others have said youll generally see more action out of the more expensive baits with a lighter weight and slower retrieve.
-
Hair jig trailer
similar to ajay if your using a marabou or feather type jig no trailer. if im using an arkie type tied from bear deer or fox then i willl use a small subtle trailer.
-
Hair jig trailer
you can do it either way.you dont want a trailer with alot of action if you use one, the tiny paca craw will work a trd makes a good hair jig trailer too,

Ron Lindner Passes Away
ugh thats a shame.never met the man but learned alot from him and al. in fisherman i still the best magazine and tv show in my opinion.

Medium light for smallmouth?
its more about technique than species. for neds dropshots ,light grubs and tubes etc i use a 6'10"stcroix legend tournament med lt extra fast. heavier baits i use the same rod in a 7ft medium. both spooled with 15 pound braid and whichever fluoro leader i think i need. usually anywhere from 6 to 10 pound.

Anyone else use a cheaper boat?
no way im spending the kind of money they are asking for fully rigged bass boats.so i fish our local electric only reservoirs.now these are decent sized lakes. like 3k acres not mud puddles.they only have one ramp so sometimes you gotta be able to run some distance. because of that we use specialized electric motors that can cost over 10 k by the time they are rigged to go. some gguys have 2 on a boat. they have elecric rigs that cost 50k. not going that route either. bought a used tracker 1654 grizzly, got a used torqueedo 4.0 decent trolling motor 2 good depthfinders. (fairly clear deep lakes we gotta fish off shore in summer) had a place callled reservoir boat works put extended decks rod box and dry storage for me . so i probably have 12k or so in it not cheap but not 75k. i did it piece by piece as i could afford it and it took total about 5 years and i fished out of it between upgrades. i love fishing of all sorts but theres no way im spending 75k for a boat to catch fish and throw them back even though i could probably afford it.
