I was out on the boat today and at the end of my fishing session I was coming across the lake and **** was quick to get on plane but the motor wouldn’t give me full speed and had some trouble getting the RPMs up. I could get off plane but it would only hit 30-35 and I was doing 55-60 earlier without a problem. The motor is a 150 2 stroke Merc vr6 on a 2005 Nitro. Any ideas as to what’s up with the engine?

Do your homework on the model and see what breaks typically. Like someone said, test everything on the water too.

They must have left those instructions out of my box. As far as I can tell the reel still adjusts with brakes and a tension knob...

I was fishing on Friday afternoon killing some time in GR and saw KVDs truck at the local lake. Sure enough him and his two boys were out fishing. Good to know that when he gets some down time to fish that he would choose the lake I fish the most on! on a side note I've had a pretty good few weeks of fishing. Sticking mostly to deep weeds and mats or either around heavy cover.

I just picked up a Kovert the other day- actually a pretty good rod so far.

So even if you are affiliated with the industry you can't register and request a pass?

How heavy are we talking here? 1oz? Do you move to a H rod? What type of jig head do you use for this? i have to say this is a pretty interesting technique that I may have to try.

Do you trim the skirt on this?

I wish it wasn't in Orlando. If it was anywhere else I would go this year.

Primarily using it for a 3/8 jig, skippping under docks and bridges. I haven't thrown any plastics on it but probably will today or tomorrow. I have mine mine on a MH Denali Kovert and some 14lb sniper FC...or maybe it's 12#. I got talked into the Denali rod as all of my other rods are Dobyns. So far I like it but haven't had a ton of time with it.

Are the hooks any better? The ones on the 90 were very poor quality for a $15 bait imho

I picked one up as well and fished it today. Might be the best reel for the money I've fished so far.

I'm trying to get better at skipping jigs and still experience a crazy amount of backlash too often. Any tips on helping eliminate or reduce this would help. Thanks in advance! Setup: diawa ct type r 8:1 dobyns fury 704 14lb sniper fc arky style or structure jig in 3/8-1/2

Fished LSC this weekend for smallies and did ok- not great. We had a few over 4 & 5lbs but not the giant we wanted. It was relatively slow for everyone but we managed 10 fish or so. We had to really slow it down to catch anything. The drop shot was by far the most effective.

I haven't fished scum frogs before but this is pretty much was I was about to type. I like the wired option for jigs but I still use Strike King in some cases. They don't hold up very well though over time compared to some of the quality jigs out there. Originally I thought Siebert was going to be just ok jigs and that he was getting most of his business because of the sponsorship on the site- then I ordered some. I pulled an order together for a bunch of "samples" to see how they were and I was impressed. I'll be putting together another order shortly that's more refined for how I typically fish jigs.

Well if it doesn't work I'll give you $120 for that gift card!
