20 size Pflueger President
was going to trade in an old reel for the discount at BPS.They were all out of 25's.The 20 size is 10 bucks cheaper and will still hold 125 yds of 6# equivalent plus a significant weight reduction(*** oz).Im wondering if ill be disappointed in the smaller size? Mostly fishing from the bank the 20 size makes sense in my head.Anyone use a 20 size and happy with it??

You guys know any good mom and pop shops out here in the good old eastern part of the state? Need a good alternative out side BPS etc.I don't always feel like spending 50 to get free shipping either. Thanks in advance

Covering Bases on a Budget
All around rods are a great concept.Until you get sick of changing lures.Im all about double duty for my rigs but quad duty will get old fast if you ask me.Spend the most money of the setup you use the most. For me my jig rod is the one i dump my money in.Id also not overlook the need for a spinning outfit. That will take care of your T and wacky rigs/soft paddle tails pretty much anything light and finesse.Id get a 7-7'6' HF to cover your frogs and flipping and pitching.A 6'10" MF for topwater and you can get away throwing the 1.5s on it.Then a 7' MHF for lighter jigs and swim jigs.Just my .02,im not a pro, just a bro.

KVD cranks and jerkbaits

KVD cranks and jerkbaits
Cause everyone knows you need those KVD triple treble short shanks from Mustad.More money for KVD when we have to buy them separate.

Frog rod dilemma
I dont usually post these threads but looking for some insight from some of you guys who have used them.Ive narrowed it down to 3.The Tatula XT 7'4' HXF,The Dobyns Fury 765Flip and the iRod Gen II 7'5" Freds Magic Stick.Im well aware of the love for the 765.Im more interested on the thoughts of other two.Anyone have experience with the XT or the irod??

couple of rod questions?
It was in store.I have it rigged up.I like the way it feels in hand.I know its not top quality but like i said at 30$ its was worth a look based on my experience with other Abu Garcia products. The rod blank weighs 5.1 oz. if it helps any. This is also the 7' MM casting rod.

couple of rod questions?
That lightning shock is 40 bucks at walmart and a great buy.A lot of us have them.I have the ML spinning rod and i wouldnt call it whippy. Its not stiff but its far from flimsy.I bought the medium vengeance a few weeks ago but haven't gotten to try it out yet.I didn't pass it up at 30 bucks since i have never had an issue with any Abu product i have owned.I plan to use it for crankbaits. All this talk about whippy rods makes me want to go to BPS and go play in the UL aisle making all the rods go "swoosh". You guys know what im talking about. You cant help it.
