  1. +1 Go braid! Easier to fix backlash as MassYak said. I have a harder time learning with Trilene!
  2. I've never gone below 20# braid.. I am just fishing again after a long hiatus and I am trying to use a leader for drop-shot applications and some worming. When using a uni to uni I finish with a drop of super glue. Not sure where I saw that. Thoughts? I keep it short so it doesn't go through the eyes too.
  3. Recently bought a 7' spinning rod from Dobyns. It came in PVC with bubble wrap in the middle and both ends. FedEx charge was almost $20. As a customer I was very pleased to see that care applied. I would expect the same if a rod of that quality being exchanged!
  4. I try to almost always have an ankle rig on also in an urban environment. My knees are shot (replaced) so E&E are kinda out of the question. Getting down to draw in a public area does 2 things for you, it makes your draw less visible and allows you to present a smaller target profile. Just $0.02 from an old fat guy!
  5. Culprit 7" ribbon tail worm Kalins 5" Grub Kalins 3" Grub 4" Sluggo Culprit 5" ribbon tail worm PS: I have never had any luck with Senkos due to being impatient. I will remedy that this year!!!!
  6. The Boss (Wife) got me one from Duluth Trading Company that is fantastic. I am not sure what she paid for it but it's extremely comfortable fabric and not restrictive at all. Pretty sure it wasn't cheap though. I am a "Full Figured girl" however!
  7. Thank you sir. I have a bunch of big round Abus for that when I fished musky a lot. This is much more comfortable at the end of the day!
  8. I'm gonna try putting some clothes on that naked rage and I bet it will be great in the grass!
  9. If I were batting 400 I would be a happy camper! But, buying series 400 Daiwa might be overkill for finesse Bass fishing. Maybe not being clear, I am referring to broadcaster sizes. I don't see great differences in line capacity, and certainly gear ratios are available in all the sizes. Come on, Just a dumb jarhead here wondering the difference between my Tatula 100 HSL and my Less BB1 that I don't know the size of.
  10. Dumb question guys, forgive me. I have been too busy trying to master the use of what I have to understand the breakdown of sizes and capabilities. Maybe I'm buying the wrong size for them to last! Help an old man out here please!
  11. That's truly a shame. Condolences to the family and a reminder to all of us to wear that PFD.
  12. I have a 703 with a Stradic 3000. Absolutely love it, not nose heavy at all! I have heard 2 or 3 folks say it's nose heavy! You know what opinions are like?
  13. Plus one more! I have the heavy I bought at a local sports show. Have only used it a few times because of some surgery but I v really like it for the price point. I especially like the grips too!
  14. I'll make room for you in the shop for a while brother!
  15. Is a quality reel EVER overkill? It will serve you well longer without issues and fishing will be more enjoyable. Besides, pond fishing is NOT what you will always do!
  16. Get the new one to satisfy your anal tendencies and then buy one of those flotation butt covers from TW with your next order and you'll never see it!
  17. I use 20# Power Pro with a 15 # Seaguar leader!
  18. I own both but have not fished them enough to make a decision. In fact the Tatula has not even had the boat cover off it yet. I will report back in a couple days!
  19. Yup, I learn a lot here. Thanks for those willing to share!
  20. I forgot I also have a Mach 1 Lews MH F rod with a Tatula 100 on it that I have not fished yet cause my truck is acting up. Will fix that girl today!
  21. I have a Lews custom speed spool on a St Croix Tournament 7 ft MLF. I am not smart enough to know what I am supposed to be using it for so I do a little drop shot with it, small spinner baits and even unweighted plastics. 20# Power Pro with a 15# Seaguar leader. I am too old to live with convention so I do what feels good!
  22. I must be odd cause I eleven try mono, never mind flouro on a baitcaster. Lots of fibers or nothing! It's easier to get out when I do manage a stupid moment or 2!
