  1. FORD, CHEVY or CHRYSLER Whatever switches your flip! I'm pretty sure more than one will get the job done!
  2. I understand completely JigMan! I am also understanding that if I want to keep the boat I make certain condolences! Seriously though, we are not kids and we can work this out. (I actually like her)
  3. Never thought about a custom shop. I wish 'll have to see what's available around here. Thanks!
  4. I see advertisements for Bikini Tops in lots of places but I am hoping to hear from someone who has had some experience with the products. My wife is more than willing to spend time on the boat with me but she can't take the sun at all. Yes, I actually do like spending time with the old girl! A well designed top would still allow access to both decks while giving her a break. The sun in NC is quite a bit different than Wisconsin. Better fish too! I have a tin boat and installation is straight forward. Can anyone help me out with a quality manufacturer?
  5. Nat Geo has the gutsyest, and most creative photographers!
  6. Dead Cow, dead Pig and dead Narrow Faced Yard Walker!
  7. I use a double Palomar as stated.
  8. Ribbet!
  9. I must be the oddball. I use 20# 832 on spinning and bait casters. I use 60# on some. Once in a blue moon I use 15# Seaguar leader material. (Blue box)
  10. I would say the best for you is one you can borrow. Get a friend you fish with to loan you a decent quality rod and reel. I say this because the purchase of what most of us would call a decent rod and reel to learn on would be $150 or so. If you buy a cheapy, and a cheapy rod you will just get passed off and be disappointed. If you fish regularly you surely have a bud who will give you a 20 minute tutorial and loan you a rig. You will know in a day whether or not it's for you. No money lost if you don't dig it, and if you like it you go spend $300 at Academy and everybody is happy. Get that $300 ready!
  11. That's one beautiful set up young man. It's obvious the influence your life's work had on your craft selection. Looks comfortable and safe! You fish quite a bit of big water and need that. You've earned it, enjoy the ride!
  12. Wal-Mart has a variety of cost conscious candidates. The have some GREAT aluminum cane poles too!
  13. I have had some textual conversations with this man and he is a GREAT guy. He's an active member of this forum and very sharing with his knowledgeable opinions. I must second Buff's opinion. I am sure he gave you the phone to Dobyns. I caught 12 fish today with the rod he suggested.
  14. Most any gun will be adequate if you place the rounds where they need to be. There are more people that die every year from properly placed .22 rounds than any other cartridge!
  15. I really like my Lews, Daiwa and Shimano stuff. But, to be honest my cane pole never broke down!
  16. I use Rod Sox I think. A-Jay, your rod locker makes me sick! We all gotta have goals! Looks good my man!!!
  17. At the top of this section is a topic called SENKO FAQ. You would get most of your questions answered here. Some of the members r s and Glenn have put together volumes of information on this topic. Good luck!
  18. Would hold up just fine with appropriate baits in a given scenario. I would use either one since I am not so rig specific. I will run a crankshaft on the same rig I just fished a spinnerbait!
  19. I have 2 of them and have been quite satisfied. I don't remember what I paid for them but they're fine.
  20. If you ever get to Park Falls WI they always have a decent markdowns section. Near the Big Chip!
  21. Thank you all! Threads like this are GREAT. I may be old but I was a city kid. It's cool to read about "old school" methods!
  22. All the time on my 17 ft tin boat. If I get out on a decent sized lake and try to stay on a point out from cove it gets used quite a bit. I also have a drift anchor that's a little oversized that helps take advantage of a wind from a useful azimuth.
  23. Cargo shorts are the ULTIMATE device for a pocket holster and an XDS with a Veridian light/laser! That way you can pocket carry a .45. I know, some are saying that 9mm ammunition has improved to make a similar cavity to a .45, but... ...I have NEVER seen a .45 cavity shrink to that of a 9mm! Just saying... Sorry was brought up with a .45 since I first qualified with one in 1972.
  24. Beautiful scooters! I'm afraid they are very much a younger man's ride. Although they are a blast in the twisteis you might be surprised how well that RT would hang at Deal's Gap or similar roads. There's some GREAT riding in the Western NC/Easter TN area. About 10 years ago, the wife and I spent almost 3 weeks in the Alps and So limited. Glad we did it then because world politics may cause the end of that. It has for me! Check out Ironhorse Campground in Stecoah Valley TN! Should you developed serious thoughts about owning an RT shoot me a message. It a 2011 with ALL the goodies and less the 9k miles.
  25. Welcome young lady. Lots to learn here!
