I have tried, and tried, and tried again to close the bail manually every cast. Probably 60% of the time I will think of it immediately after I have just turned the handle and heard the bail flip over. I am just too stupid!

I use 20 on most everything except a Heavy 7 footer I run 30 on with an Abu Garcia round reel.

At minimum you should voice the safety concern and use it as a bargaining chip to offset the upgrade cost to make it safe.

When I retired from the military I went to work as a government contractor developing black helicopters for the Army. After about 18 years I retired completely. That did not last long. Just to clarify as I just got off the phone with mEmbership Services, and I quote: "We offer NO product which will support the towing or repair of trailers or boats. You can purchase coverage plans for RVs and Motorcycle however!"

IMportant info I was told yesterday by AAA that none of their packages will cover a trailer at all. I threw a belt on my Ramat 0430 yesterday heading for a lake I have not fished before. I was less than 100 miles from home so getting my truck towed home was not an issue, but: I had to call my brother to go k e get the boat. I have been a AAA member for years and never had to use it till yesterday. I will get more info on Monday!

My granddaughter got one on a BPS spinning reel the other day so bad I had to pull the spool off and cut the line cause it was so badly wrapped around the shaft.
