  1. We're not 17 any more Bull! It sucks, but it sure beats the alternative!
  2. Grayfox Thank you, I was trying to be sarcastic. Just poorly done!
  3. I use all the bright colors. I will continue to use green until I respool those rods. What can I say, my eyes SUCK!
  4. Only done it once, pulling a tangled up mess of 4 or 5 rods out of a boat when a floppy rod with a Mepps snagged, popped loose and caught my forearm. Pushed it through, cut it off and all is well!
  5. Be safe down there Catt!
  6. Barbie did a fine job for my Granddaughter catching bluegills. She uses a Shimano Spinning reel now though.
  7. I just got back into fishing this year and must have LH casting reels. When I previously fished I used RH reels. Can't do it now.
  8. I would love to be able to do that! Good luck.
  9. I am anxious to try the can I ordered from TW. I have used Reel Manic years ago. I pretty much only use braid too.
  10. By the way E.a. Welcome to the Forum!
  11. I love email! As WRB stated care should be taken fishing on to ensure you only time to the hook eyelet and do not also get the spring eyelet in the knot. I happen to be digitally challenged with this tablet and cannot post images to more clearly define it. Sorry!
  12. What is this "mono" thing and "flouro" thing you guys keep referring to? Tried it, gave up!
  13. Or maybe a heavier jig as MassBassin said. I always get it to go down.
  14. I have some Musky baits cheap if you want email. Send me an e m Wil to oldjarhead1956@gmail.com and I will send you a pic. Not very smart about imagery in the Forum site.
  15. Fish what you own now! You will go broke buying musky gear. Besides, I have caught more musky bass fishing than I ever have while musky fishing. Seriously, if you need to buy, get 7' heavy rod at BPS or Cabelas and a round Abu Garcia. Put 60# Power Pro on it and you have a Musky/Frog rod. Baits will cost you a fortune too. Stop at Rollie / Helens to look only. You would be better of stopping at Park Falls while in Eagle River and get so m Blems from the St Croix factory for half market price. Butternut Lake is close. It's low pressured for good size fish too. Have fun! BTW, I lived on the north side of Racine for about 20 years.
  16. I am finding the 12V Minn Kota Edge 45 to be quite inadequate. I am guessing that an 80# 24V replacement should be enough for a 17 foot Xpress, with more than 5 speeds. I have no experience with the various big brands so please feel free to make my head hurt. I think assisted deploy/retract would be a requirement due to age and arthritic issues. I run a Helix 7 graph so I am not sure if connectivity is possible or really worthwhile. Now that I have looked and seen the amount to be spent I am looking forward to your sharing opinions. Thanks y'all!
  17. Thank you John, will feed the monkey!
  18. Does the Mendit work better than super glue? I always have a bottle of isocyanate (SP) handy.
  19. Sluggos and Sluggo SS have always been a favorite of mine! Great color at the right time. Whatever time that may be!
  20. Like MikeL said, being brought up in northern NJ during the 50s and 60s all the rivers and lakes used to glow in the dark. Dad used to take me to BelMar and we would go out on a party boat in the Atlantic blue fishing a couple times a year. Good memories!!!
  21. ...inside upper lip!
  22. 20 pound 832 to a 14 pound Seaguar Blue box leader.
