  1. Tungsten hands down. The size comparison with tungsten vs lead is why I'll never go back to lead.. the added sensitivity is just a bonus.
  2. How about a 3 piece? Daiwa Ardito TR. $129.99 on TW and comes with a carrying case. TackleTour gave it a good review
  3. I had Ehrler and Lee in the Classic (finished #1 and #2) aside from that I've been doing bad!
  4. One of my confidence baits for largemouth. 1/8oz tube jig head with an exposed hook and I drag and hop them around. Works well
  5. I'm really enjoying my Tatula Elite AGS.. I have the 7' M-MH. I use it for 1/8oz and weightless Texas rigs, neko rig and jerkbaits mostly.
  6. $350 "should" be able to get you a nice used Ascend kayak (bass pro brand)
  7. Soft drinks with citric acid (MTN dew, Sprite, 7up, mellow yellow, ect) will stop bleeding.
  8. Ouch! Bet it was a huge relief to be done with that. The absolute worse pain I've ever been in was on vacation 9 years ago, I was 16. We were swimming in the hotel pool and I jumped in, whole body under water and when I came back up my ear drum ruptured. Was the only time in my life I've rolled around on the ground screaming at the top of my lungs in pain. Went to the hospital, fell asleep in the room on my side and when I woke up my pillow was covered in blood and other nasty fluids, and I felt better, they gave me pain meds and that was it. 9 years later and I still haven't been swimming since then, out of fear of that happening again.
  9. My favorite line to use on a multi purpose rod is P-Line Flouroclear.. 15lb usually. The reason I like it is because it's supposedly invisible underwater like fluoro, but floats like mono. Jigs to topwater and everything else I'll throw on this line and it does pretty well for me
  10. I frog in open water alot, regardless of conditions I usually try to get that bite going first before I switch to other techniques.
  11. Tackletour.com has an awesome review of that reel.
  12. Nice fish. I'd ditch that Spider Wire asap and go with a better line. Spiderwire and Stren are the 2 manufacturers I would stay away from, they put out a sorry product. Power Pro makes a great braid and it's cheaper than most higher end braids.
  13. Glad your enjoying it. While I don't own one I have handled them in the store and the 7'2" MH casting rod felt very nice, a tad heavy weight wise but very well built.
  14. I fish a 7'4" H with 65lb braid from the shore ?
  15. Yep, sometimes it gets bit for me when the frog won't. I really like the subsurface swimming action when you walk it
  16. Pad Crasher is easily my favorite frog. I'd get the popping version, it can be walked very easily so you get the best of both worlds in one frog. I frogged with a MH last year and it worked great.
  17. Are you dead set on those lines? I prefer 10-12lb fluoro for jerkbaits.. I also use the Tatula SV for this purpose
  18. Dtrombly replied to slonezp's topic in Everything Else
    Not surprised in the least.
  19. I like it alot, really like the long full cork handle. It's alot more stiff than I usually like in a frog rod, so I'm trying to get used to that but I'm impressed with it overall
  20. Daiwa DX Type LT 7'4" H/F with a Tatula CT. Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS 7' M-MH/XF with a Tatula SV.
  21. Tatula SV is a great reel. Especially when you can get them for way less than retail on eBay. I got mine new for $129 shipped.
  22. I didn't expect it to last forever, but I definitely didn't expect the blank to crack right down the middle (vertically) on the first outing. Like I said it was a sweet rod though. The Endurance series looks really nice.
  23. @Catt @NYWayfarer the absurd amount of bad reviews about durability, watching them snap randomly on multiple YouTube vids, horror stories about their customer service team, owner, ect. I have owned one (Diesel) and I'm still blown away by how great that rod was at it's price point, but it did break on me. I really want an Endurance, but all of these things have me looking elsewhere.
