Guntersville 6/3
TVA pulling a lot of water. We fished current breaks and caught fish. No bite on the main channel for us.

Looking for a Southern Lake
Guntersville has some really good bass fishing.

Should I Give Up??
I feel for you guys in the North. I'm in central Alabama and the temp is 41 this morning and I'm thinking about how cold it is going to be on the water. Even here with the milder weather, there are times that they just seem to vanish for me.

Im done
Not sure I would complain a lot about having to catch trout. Being military I've lived everywhere from Key West to Fairbanks and even Hawaii. There are advantages and disadvantages to fishing in all those places. I'm not so dedicated to bass fishing that I wouldn't put a few trout on the plate. Or salmon, halibut, catfish, crappie, Mahi-mahi, or wahoo. I just like to fish.

You know you have a problem when..........
The Hoarder tv show contacts you about doing a show and you own mostly fishing tackle.

Rod Differences
One of the oldest sensitivity test out there when comparing two rods is having a friend hold the tip against their adam's apple and count to ten. You will definitely feel differences in the way the rods transmit vibration to your hand.

Drop shot question.
Not sure who made the hooks. Is the reason the technique seems to suck so bad is their not Owners?

Drop shot question.
Using 6'6" Berkley IM6 M/L F, 6# fluorocarbon, Shimano Spyrex, 1/8 oz drop shot weight, 1/0 Owner circle with a weed guard, tried a variety of different finesse worms 4-5" Have rigged them Texas with a worm hook, through the nose, and wacky with the circle hooks.

Drop shot question.
I appreciate it, everyone. I'm going to keep trying it occasionally and see if it gets better. I need to catch a few fish on it to get some confidence in it. It's about as exciting as watching paint dry. Hard to spend time throwing it when you have more confidence in other baits.

Drop shot question.
I've been trying to drop shot for a while, mostly when it's slow. I'm using a 1/8 oz weight with a finesse worm 12" to 48" above it on a 1/0 hook. I am slowly hopping and twitching it back to the boat. I have yet to catch a bass drop shotting and rapidly losing any confidence in it. I know they are there I can catch them on a Senko rigged wacky just letting it sink. What am I doing wrong? Why not just Carolina rig if I want to suspend off the bottom?

crank bait starter kit ?
If I owned absolutely no crankbaits my first purchase would be a chrome/blue Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap, then a couple of Rapala DT's.

my carpet re-do
Looking good. We did the boards and large clamps all the way around the hatch. Did the metal paper clamps do ok?

Re-Setting Guide...or full repair?
If you're wanting to do it yourself and be useable upholstery thread from Walmart and a little epoxy works well, or you can pay someone in your area about $10-$20 and it will look much better. I always base it on the cost of the rod which method I choose.

Fall! First Bait Thrown
LOL, My feelings wouldn't have been hurt. Just trying to give you an honest answer. We have bassresource members from all 50 states. What is working in South Florida will probably not be working in Maine at the same time. Nothing beats some local info if you can get it.

Fall! First Bait Thrown
We have a lot of fishermen here and many of us are friends. We will usually tell each other what we are catching them on, just not where.

G P S app
Works well on the iPhone as well.

Spook colors
I try to buy the colors that most closely match what I think they are feeding on. Here in Alabama most of the year in daylight I like something with shad coloring or bone, at night I throw black.

Vey slow Sunday here
Sunday we couldn't get on fish on any profile we tried. Central Alabama, East wind at 5, clear blue skies, water temp 70 degrees, full moon the night before, dense fog in the AM. The weather felt more like June than November. They have now dropped the lake level 5' to winter pool. We threw everything in the boat and couldn't get a bite. You could see baitfish on the electronics at 25-30' but no bass. Even talked to some guys crappie fishing that were having a decent day. Anyone else have a slow day Sunday?

Trailer bunk rolling up.
I tightened it up really snug and it seems to have solved it.

High water level...can there be too much?
Logan Martin, it helps because usually, they will pull water. The bass here seem to bite better with some current. I have noticed that brighter colors tend to produce better after water rise because it usually muddies the reservoir.

Polorazid sunglasses
Depending on your disability percent it should be covered. That's what got me started with the VA was my eyeglasses, It saves me about $300 a year on glasses and in Birmingham, the ophthalmology staff is really good.

PRADCO buys War Eagle
Pradco Outdoors already owns Heddon, BooYah, Cotton Cordell, Yum, and a host of others. I heard they are going to manufacture in Fort Smith. It's truly hard for the small guys to compete and the owners and management of War Eagle are to remain heavily involved. Probably a solid business decision.

Polorazid sunglasses
If your veteran and use the VA you can get a pair of prescription polarized sunglasses through them for a nominal fee. Only mention it because we have a lot of vets here.

When was the last time!
LOL, Is this a trick question? I love to skip jigs under docks, only got one good eye so my depth perception is a little off. Skipping when you catch a pylon, or skip to high and hit the dock can get ugly. Sometimes the jig hits the water wrong on the first bounce the spool is humming and the jig comes to a dead stop. I use inexpensive mono on it for skipping because I know it's going to happen. It gets re-spooled at least once a month after I've cut out so much line that it doesn't skip well anymore. So it was probably the last time I fished which was Sunday.

Trailer bunk rolling up.
The whole bunk rolls 90 degrees and leaves the boat sitting on the edge of the 2x4 bunk. I back into the water again and fix it. Doesn't happen all the time but enough to be aggravating. I've tried it with the boat completely off the trailer and I can't see why it's rolling.
