Tungsten VS Lead Shakey Head
Tungsten would be my choice if I threw a shakey head a lot. Check out omfishingsinkers.com for cheap tungsten/tungsten jig heads.

Can a 100+ ft, 50 acre, 100yr old quarry..,
Bigger bass are harder to catch. And the fact that it has an over abundance of medium sized bass makes it hard for a medium size bass to grow into a big one. A pit I fish, is only 90 acres and doesn't see much pressure. The owners didn't keep many bass at all until about 7 years ago when we caught a lot of bass that were 14-17 inches long and as thin as paper. We started keeping 50-75 bass a year 12-16 inches and our quantity of quality fish has sky rocketed. Used to a 20lb bag on 5 fish was a great day, but it did happen fairly frequently. Now a 20lb bag is almost expected on a 10hr trip. I would say with the quarry being very deep and decently sized there are good places for giants to hide, but they are probably few and far between because of all the medium sized ones over populating the reachable fishing area.

Fish Counter
Very true, I love pitching and heavy cover. So if I did catch them doing that it would be very close. But I caught them steady reeling a chatterbait on weedlines which was fun, but Nothing like smacking one in the face with a giant flipping hook

Has a bass ever taken away your rod and reel?
Not me, but my fishing partner and best friend. We were fishing early morning throwing topwater and flukes. It's was drizzling so everything was wet. He was working his fluke rod tip up, almost on the top of the water. About the time he went to twitch it a feisty 2 pounder smashed it and ripped the rod right out of his hands. He jumped for it But I snagged the tip with my buzzbait and the cork on the handle of the rod floated so no harm no foul.

Fish Counter
Cool apps, but I am not a numbers guy in the least. A couple big bites a month and I'm satisfied. I've had 100 fish days. And I've also had some 40, 3-4lb fish days And would take 2 7lbers in a day over either one of those. But that's what makes fishing interesting. Everyone enjoys it for different reasons

Summer bass fishing tips
Jigs, worms, swimbaits, lizzards, creature baits, frogs, topwater. But at night like catt mentioned. I'm my opinion nothing makes you better at bottom contact fishing than fishing in the pitch black. And it helps that it's cooler, less pressure, and the fish bite awesome in summertime at night.

Baitcaster casting technique
When I learned to cast a baitcaster, I was taught to roll my wrists at the end of my cast and end up with the handles pointed upright. I almost always have some type of over run or backlash if I get lazy or in a hurry and do not roll my wrist. I believe it also helps with distance as well as extending your arms and raising the rod upward while your bait is in the air. It helps it carry just a little bit farther.

Lews tp-1 microwave guides? New rod suggestion
The tp-1 line of rods run a bit heavier than most other manufacturers. I have 3 of them 2 7ft mh and 1 7'3 heavy. Although I could throw a senko with the heavy, it is too much stick for it. But the mh would be a good choice for this. I've had a few 7Lb large mouth wrap me around stick ups while pitching plastics with the 7' mh and I did not feel underpowered by any means. I open water frog with one of them. Either dobyn or lews is a solid choice.

(Un)official Hoosiers Thread
I have every other Friday off until the end of May. Thank goodness I can see the light. Since they have taken the good Friday holiday away from us, it's a long 5 months from New year's to memorial day without a scheduled day off

Between that and building all these darn toyota suv's. I've got a vacation day Friday and even though it's projected to be blowing 15 mph from the north, it's supposed to reach 56 and I'm gonna go as much as possible.

Buzz bait
I've seen you recommend this buzzbait a few times, what gear are you throwing it on? 3/4 ounce is a pretty large buzzbait

Low stretch mono options
P-line cxx is as tough as nails. Virtually no stretch, down side is that it's thick and that it doesn't handle the best over 15lbs. If I had to pick one line to frog and punch with besides braid, it would be cxx. And if you have some 25Lb cxx laying around it makes great weed eater string...yes I've done this

Post your best fishing tip
-Finesse doesn't only mean light weights, light hooks, and spinning gear. You can finesse a 3/4 ounce jig through a lay down. Similar to what a-jay mentioned. -What one person believes is the best, whether that be rod, reel, line, or lure, doesn't mean it will be the best for your situation. -If the fishing is slow or You're on a new body of water, start fishing how you like and how you feel most comfortable. This is a fun past time and confidence is key to catching and having fun. -Have a game plan before you get to the body of water. -You don't have to stick to your game plan of conditions change.
