Do I Need a Froggin' Rod?
50Lb braid is what I use most for my mainline. Great castabilityand handling. And it's heavy enough for all applications

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I have the 7'5. It's a very versatile rod. I use it for carolina rigs now. But have used it for 1/2 ounce traps all the way to 8xds

Is the technology advancing or the marketing team getting better?

Help me choose one.
Daiwa fuego can be had for 65 bucks on eBay. They fish way above their price point. The fuego rods are really nice as well

Dobyns FR 734C, Bass X, or Mojo Bass casting rod?
Hard to fish all those baits on 1 rod. What you listed is about 2-4 different rods. But from the reviews I've read, the 734 is super versatile.

color or shape theory?
I can think of multiple times when color mattered more than shape/action. And vice versa. When me and my tourney partner are fishing the only time we are throwing the same platic is once we establish a good pattern. And still usually I'm throwing it with a heavier weight making short precise pitches and underhand casts while he is making regular casts, soaking the bait a bit more. Until we really pin point what they want

Older Norman DD22 HD Weights
In a perfect situation, you would want a lure to fall in the average of the suggest lure weight. For example if you had a rod rated from 1/4 - 1 ounce, a 1/2 ounce advertised bait would be "ideal" for this. I use a 7'5 mh to throw Crankbaits over 1/2 ounce. (9/16-1 1/4) The rod is rated 1/2 to ***/8

Academy H2O Xpress TAC-40 Reel
Sounds nice. And yeah definitely a shallow spool. But that's not always a bad thing. Especially if you use braid.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Not the "latest catch" but thought I would post since I thought I lost the pic. Heck of a fiasco On this day. Up for 27 hrs straight, forgot the net, sheared a pin in the trolling motor, dropped pliers in 20ft of water so couldn't replace the pin. Was throwing a kvd sexy frog On my 6'6 Shakespeare medium heavy with 15Lb mono. Forgot my braid setup. I believe this is my 4th biggest bass. And I have caught it once more 2 years later after it was spawned out and not nearly as big. We tagged this fish after I caught it the first time.
