Great advice. That's what I did. Had a few 1/2 ounce jigs and that's all I used for a few years them branched out to 1/4, 3/8, and 3/4 and have now ended up with 3 rods that I throw jigs in and most days bring all three. My jig/plastics rods are as follows 8' heavy for 3/4+ jigs and pitching with straight shank hook. 65lb braid 7'3 heavy for 1/4 and 3/8 pitching heavy timber. Ewg hook. 25Lb fluoro. 7' heavy for 3/8 and 1/2 ounce jigs. 17Lb fluoro 7'4 heavy for 3/8+ deep Texas rig. 5-7/0 hook. Big worms and creatures. 50Lb braid to a 25Lb fluoro leader 7' medium for 1/4 ounce jigs and senkos. All are baitcasters and all serve a distinct purpose for me. But I didn't buy all these rods then figure out I liked to pitch and cast jigs and plastics. I made due with the medium heavy and medium power rods then realized I really liked it and was successful with these techniques so I purchased technique specific rods. They are my most expensive rods and also my favorite.

And really the 7'3 would be good for jigs and t-rig up to 1/2 ounce

I use 1/2 only and let trailer type determine the depth/speed I fish them

We catch hundreds of bass on the same lures in the same spots every year in a few 90 acre strip pits. A lot of these fish get caught and re caught every year. We tag them so we can keep track of how often they are caught and what they are eating each time. With that said, if you stand in the same spot, everyday, with the same lure them yes they will get conditioned. But if you have that large of a body of water and can fish it all them no I don't believe they will. Also 3 baits aren't the best for year round fishing even if you are getting bites, most likely what's working in the spring isn't going to work as well in the late summer. Example: if you are on a good swimbait bite shallow, in the heat of the summer I'd guess you'll catch some fish But not the potential you would if you fished deeper with a big jig or worm. My last tourney we weighed in 23lbs of Bass. 6lb,5lb,5lb,3lb,2lb,2lb. The 4 biggest had been caught over 5 times a piece with the second 5lber being caught 3 times that year.

Light color and a dark color will cover it all. The bass can't see the top side of the frog so only the belly matters. All frogs around here are white-ish yellow on the belly. I either use solid white or solid black. Let the fish decide what color they want.

I honestly don't know the details of it. But I know that Florida strain Bass we're moved there lots of years ago and they do grow faster and bigger. @WRB could probably enlighten everybody

Just preference. As long as you aren't in heavy slop you'll be fine. I prefer a shorter rod for frogs as well. I chopped 2 inches off of a 7ft my and now it fishes like a 6'10 heavy.

What I consider a good angler isn't about numbers or size. But it's about rationalization of the conditions/location. I fish with a couple of the best fish catchers in my county. They have caught giants and continue to catch over average bass on a consistent basis every year. But I don't consider them good anglers. They aren't very versatile and don't have a rhyme or reason why they are fishing where they are or why they are using that bait. But they Have fun and have confidence which is about 65 percent of fishing. Angler is a mindset in my opinion and when you start rationalizing the condtions and locations and applying your knowledge to catch fish. I will never consider myself good enough because that's when you become complacent.

Have used the 110+ with great success. Suspend good and have super sharp hooks. I used the "gilly" color and it was an amazing paint job that didn't chip one bit after about 30 fish. Lost it to a stump in 10ft of water while fishing the bank. Solid buy

Cxx is a good line. Strong and abrasion resistant. But it's thick and doesn't handle the best over 12lb. But I use it for leader material. It will work for topwater, I used it for poppers and buzzbaits.

Pad crashers. But I just got in my order of jackall kaera frogs and they look awesome for downsizing profile but not weight.

I never have, but I've scouted it a bit. Plan to get out there this year.
