  1. I wouldn't rule out the lews tp1 speed stick. I have 4 of them and they are great. They fish a touch heavy, so a heavy I feel like would be perfect. I use a 7'3 H for flipping and pitching the heaviest cover I can find and it is a beast. Also way under budget at 100 dollars
  2. I wouldn't suggest it. Your rod has these ratings for a reason and if broken it could injure you or void the warranty of applicable
  3. Maybe try an o-ring if you aren't already. I haven't ever fished the neko rig but plan to start my next trip out.
  4. It seems like the trend is once they get about 17 inches its a pound and an inch a year up until about 6lbs then it slows down. I fish in southern indiana not known for huge bass and don't have the longest growing season. Same day, the one in my right hand is previous fish posted. Other 2 were tagged as well.
  5. My friend has a tagging gun, not sure if it's specifically for fish or not.We have never had one die from tagging it. But it pierces the skin and has a barb on the end similar to a hook and then it's got something similar to about 100Lb mono attatched to a small piece of plastic(about the size of 2 tic tacs) that has 3 or 4 numbers on it. It's awesome going back through the records and seeing who has caught the same fish.
  6. It's over a year later, did you find somewhere to fish? I will be planning a trip there next summer and would love to hit a lake or pond.
  7. In 3 of the private lakes I fish, we tag fish. Any fish over 16 inches gets tagged with a number and gets length, girth, weight, any distinct markings documented. As well as who caught it, when it was caught, where and what it was caught on. In the past 4 years, I personally have caught 20-30 tagged fish. Some on the same exact bait In the same spot, within 3 weeks of each other. It is very cool to go back in the records and see how much a fish has grown or how much it has moved. The last one I caught was a 7Lb 2oz fish that hadn't been caught since august 2012. I caught her 5-6-17. We estimated this fish at at least 11 years old. Only 75 yards from the previous catch and release. The fish had gained around 1.25lbs and still had the distinct black marking on her right gill plate. Does anyone fish Any lakes that have tagged fish? Also I released this fish and she swam away strong as ever. You can see the small orange tag just below her fin in her back.
  8. Swim jig maybe? Something you can have moving to draw a reaction strike, but you can pause it and let it hit bottom and fish it like a normal jig to make it look like a blugill feeding on the bottom. I've never had much luck catching bass off of bluegill beds. I always resort to my UL and some crickets and catch a mess of gills.
  9. Exactly! When I am co-angler, I pay all the entry fees(only 50 bucks), buy breakfast and lunch and drinks. And offer to pull the boat with my truck. I feel like that is an even trade for the captain being nice enough to let me in his boat and to fish some of his spots.
  10. I fish out of the front of my friends boat, it has a rear mounted trolling motor. I always leave him fresh water, even if we are just fun fishing, and sometimes I point it out to him if he doesn't see that I didn't cast to it. We have only tangled a few time and that was due to schooling fish and 25mph winds. A lot of times we will throw similar things. If he's throwing a spinnerbait I'll throw a chatterbait. Communication is key.
  11. What about a berkley ligtning rod 7'6 H and an abu garcia orra winch? That should be right around 110 bucks. If not an abu maybe a kastking stealth. They have lots of drag and good line capacity. The kastking would bring it to about $100 or less I think
  12. 30Lb braid. 10Lb cxx leader.
  13. I kinda sounds like someone with a lisp trying order white cheese at a Mexican restraunt
  14. Love their warpig and and cutter 110+ love the blugill colors. Super sharp hooks out of the package and run true/suspend
  15. The good news is Youre a fan of an awesome caliber!
  16. The citrus acid in the drinks mentioned will help, also if you are a Coca-Cola or RC fan you can use Sprite or Ski
  17. Last name, first name. Lol
  18. Had a day like this 3 years ago. Two of us in the from bass fishing 2 in the back crappie fishing. The crappie fishermen were killing it and I had about a 20lb bag. My friend caught 1 fish all day and it was about an 8 inch bass. I gave him exactly what I was throwing and told him how I was working it, he tried but failed. A little ribbing at the end of the day and all was good.
  19. Kastking reel, berkley lightning rod. 7ft medium heavy. 70 dollars if not cheaper.
  20. Gotta love patoka early in the year.
  21. 1/4 ounce sniper jig with all black skirt rocks! My favorite jig ever!
  22. Jungle hooks all the way!
