Best and Worst Advice
Not fishing related ... I just saw this in the news regarding Monica Lewinsky In July, she responded organizational psychologist Adam Grant’s Twitter callout for the worst career advice people have ever received. Her response: “an internship at the white house will be amazing on your resume,” followed by a blushing emoji.

Ranger Boats finally came out with the perfect Trolling Motor Foot Pedal Compartment
So which is it? Do you like the foot pedal to be level with the rest of the boat deck? or right on top of the deck because they are basically level with the boat deck and wouldn't work? Maybe now you can see the confusion of what you are saying.

How Far Down South
It's the peacefulness, the people and the slow pace, even downtown Knoxville has this homey quality to it. (I'm about 45 minutes from Knoxville) Although i lived in a more rural area in Ohio, I was always working in the city or the suburbs. There I described the feeling as cutthroat. The drive was always white knuckle with fingers flying and horns honking. Everyday shopping in a grocery store was like black friday with the rudeness and the me first attitude. The job market? It will depend on your field and I know nothing about how the auto biz is here. Like just about anywhere the closer you get to the city the more opportunities there are. The winters are very mild compared to Ohio. The last month I was not able to fish was Dec of 2017 and I spent 3 weeks out of town that year or it would go back to 2015. I fished 9 months straight once in Ohio but 2 months were ice fishing.

How Far Down South
I live in east TN now after living most of my life about 45 minutes from Cleveland and Lake Erie. The summers in Ohio were worse for me than the summers here in East TN The humidity was horrible near lake erie and its pretty mild here for the most part. Although I only fish til about noon or one on the weekends, I'm outside working in the yard the rest of the time. I'm about 2 hours from Chickamauga and pass Watts Bar, Tellico & Fort Loudon as well as Melton Hill all on the TN river on my way there. I can go about an hour and a half east and fish Watauga or South Holston Reservoir. (both gorgeous lakes) About 45 minutes away are both Douglas and Cherokee lakes and I live 2 left hand turns from Norris lake. There's more lakes than I have time for. Plus, there are a ton of creeks and streams that are stocked with trout The first time I visited TN, it felt like the home I was missing

I need help...
Where have you been fishing that you have been struggling? As location is far more important than what bait to use. How deep is the lake? water temp? Is the whole entire lake choked with weeds or do they stop growing at a certain depth? Glenn- the owner of the website is from Washington state too (I think) He's posted some great videos on different techniques in different situations, give them a look Here's one that is a modified drop shot(which you have confidence in) used to work in heavier cover(like your dense weeds)

Big Bass Commentary
That is a very interesting bit of information there.

Light topwater baits
Smaller buzzbaits(1/8) work well too. I like removing the skirt and using curly tail grub as a trailer

I can't catch more than one fish in a day!?
If your using heavy line put on a large treble hook bait make casts and drag in the weeds. this will create "lanes" that you can use to cast in and around Have you tried fishing something over the top of the hydrilla? Frog, toad, weightless swimbait rigged weedless .... Since this is your pond, I'd try to clear an area and add something for the bass to relate to you could add rocks, tree limbs, small dock or casting platform ....

Megabass is great
Whats the going price for a "destroyed" rod?

Big walking baits for river fish
I'm nowhere near point 19 in June and July- that place is a madhouse The whole Loyston sea area gets too much recreational traffic for my liking I spend most of winter chasing smallie around there I do spend a lot of time in lost creek as the ramp for there is private, less crowded and one left turn out of my driveway go about 5 miles and a right turn into the campground. Ever fish the powell side of Norris?

Zee Baits ??? Anyone ???

2020 Elite schedule
BASS is waiting on checks from the host cities to clear. BASS is waiting for the BPT schedule to be released, so they can schedule open events at the same time. The last thing BASS wants is some BPT guy winning their classic

Traveling out of the country
Weird tip, but if you park in the long term parking do not leave your registration in the glove box. I remember reading a story where a couple went away for a few weeks leaving their car in the long term parking. Someone smashed out a window, took the registration and then proceeded to empty the house while the couple was away. Congrats on the wedding and have fun !!

MLF has become a dink fest
I agree. People that lie, cheat and/or steal have some way they justify it in their mind at the time. I just dont think they revisit these actions to find how they can be better people or their justification holds more weight than their moral compass.

MLF has become a dink fest
Kinda playing devil's advocate here... I don't disagree, however if its not against the rules then what can he do? These guys are not getting points for etiquette. Dude has made a pretty good career by just following other guys around trying to copy them. What about the tourneys where guys are fishing right on top of each other sharing water willingly? Hard to make a rule where in certain instances the players don't even want it enforced. I just think this is a bad part of fishing and the MLF format causes it to happen more often because you know who is catching them. Just fire up the motor and go see where they are. Even if you dont fish the same spot, just knowing a guy is catching them on a point or a channel swing is something that can be duplicated elsewhere on the lake.

MLF has become a dink fest
Although the bent pole pattern sucks, MLF does nothing to prevent it. Actually, scoretracker might encourage it. If it isn't against the rules, then why is someone at fault for doing it? How do you enforce something that is not in the written rules?

MLF has become a dink fest
When I bought my boat I told the salesman my next stop was the Bassmaster classic He said, "Every hillbilly with a boat thinks they could win the classic." We both got a good laugh because it has some truth to it. A lot of guys that think they can be pros start by fishing the BFL's as it is cheap compared to the Opens or the Costa's Win a couple AOY's at the BFL level and then you'll have something to offer sponsors Now that all the major trails require you to qualify to fish them the best of the best will fishing the big 3 MLF, BASS and FLW. That's pretty crappy of him. Some people might not agree with his personality, but it's his character that is reflected in these (non)actions

Stupid thought of the day
I got a laugh out of this. I poured concrete for 14 years and one year the boss hired his nephew. Well we ran out of concrete, so we have to wait for the last truck. The boss tells his nephew to go get the "concrete stretcher" out of the work truck. Told him it was a big net looking thing with giant hooks on both sides and was probably buried at the bottom The kid emptied the whole truck and came back saying he couldn't find it The boss laughed and told him he had to put everything back in the truck- neatly

What is the wierdest lure/bait combo you've used with success?
I think these are a popular in Japan.
