  1. Ok, that makes it a lot easier. No big ticket items on the horizon. My tourney partners wife always reminds him he spent more on his boat than he did on her ring and the honeymoon. hahahahhaaaa I told her he really messed up because he could have had a hummingbird with 360 imaging and a MinnKota ultrex if he didnt get married. It seems like you have a good grasp as to what you can afford, you have something to tow it and somewhere to store it. Loading it up with goodies is a lifelong shopping trip. Good luck and cant wait to hear what you get!!
  2. Congrats and enjoy making memories from it!! Some of my best memories are fishing with my dad and fishing with my family in my Crestliner.
  3. You'll have to answer some questions, that only you will know the answers for based on your situation. Do you own a home? When is the wedding, going on a honeymoon? Kids or plans to have kids? The above questions are often related to costly expenses in the future. What type of tow vehicle do you have? How far and how often will you be towing the boat? Where will you store the boat? Boats are not the only expense, towing and storing can add to additional costs.
  4. I arrived at my launch area one morning and someone left this mess. When I got back 4 hours later and picked the litter up, someone had come and picked up the deer head mount. I guess that old saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure" came into play here.
  5. He's got a gofund me started ... https://www.gofundme.com/nathan-peterman-please-retire
  6. Awesome news!! Sometimes, I find myself in the garage talking to my boat during the winter. My boats 15 years old, if I got a new one i'd be out there giving it hugs every now and then!!
  7. Congrats!! Next stop the double fluke rig/donkey rig
  8. I have a couple of surgeries planned for early next year. Both issues happened early this spring but I fended them off until the winter as I wasn't going to miss pre spawn, spawn or post spawn. We'll see how much that will cost me physically next year.
  9. I wouldn't let that guy near coffee, he'd screw that up too
  10. Probably wont work but here is a link https://www.nationalgeographic.com/tv/watch/c356e8c75f79428ed58ce2107831acb4/
  11. I swear I could flinch at a DT-6 and it would split in 2 pieces I like the Berkley baits and have had success with the squarebill and the dredgers. Got a couple of their topwaters but may have to wait until spring to really see how well they work.
  12. hahahahahaaa ..... After seeing all the smallies on this thread I wondered when Schram would be back to post another picture of his fish
  13. I would guess they will have new social media rules so the cup events dont get "spoiled" Figures, as I've got hulu, netflix and a firestick.(wife and kids have all these things, I get stuck watching what they are watching) I bet if I looked at all the different options, I could watch MLF on the firestick
  14. So much for qualifying to get into the Elite Series ..... But hey got to do what you've got to do to stay competitive. Watch out for the Johnston boys, they can catch em' anywhere. It'll be a fun year learning the new guys and watch who takes advantage of this golden opportunity.
  15. I hope it is available for free as I cannot currently watch it and refuse to pay for it. I was making assumptions based off of the current model they have. They must be getting a ton of sponsorship money to pull this all off. BASS needs to get out of that ESPN contract and move to a channel where they will get more exposure. Most times when they do show the BASS events they are during prime fishing time so i'm on the water also knowing the results from 2 weeks before and watching it on BASS live leaves little reason to watch it smashed in between all the commercials. Also I can't watch BTL, that one guy is way too annoying for me to stand for more than a minute
  16. What I have noticed about winter fishing is that anytime there is a warm up in temp, it's because a front blew it in and there will be wind on those warmer winter days more often than not.
  17. Supposedly that is how they are going to do it. They just have not announced how much it will cost to watch it on their website or if it will be available for free(which I would not expect with no entry fees and the focus on the anglers making more money) Currently, their model is that you pay for content but cant watch it for 48 hours until the event airs on the Outdoor channel.
  18. I dont mind winter fishing but I prefer the warmer weather. Once the temp drops into the low 50's I give up chasing the largies for the smallies Some years I can get on the smallmouth pretty good all follow them all winter and into the spawn Other years it seems as if I'm trying to chase them down all winter with only a few catches here and there
  19. Redcrest is the first name I would have come up with for a Championship event. Is it going to take place in Redcrest CA? Or is it sponsored by that chicken shack in Philly? all kidding aside, It's gonna be a long winter waiting to see their first event
  20. Very nice and thanks for sharing!!
  21. I have had very good success recycling my old baits, not sure where you pulled the 95% failure number from? My success has been 100%, seeing that anything that fails gets cut up and repoured. This is especially beneficial for my topwater toads and the stickbaits I pour. Sure the colors are muted but for these baits I'm mainly looking for something green, something dark or something lighter in color. Now if I'm going to fish a gin clear lake I'll also pour baits with new plastic in colors specific for that trip.
  22. BASS has had the issue of trying to grow the sport for the last 50 years. How much money have they spent with BASS Nation, The Junior Bassmasters, high school and college fishing to grow the sport? What has MLF done for the future of bass fishing? What have they returned back to the sport other than the tournament payouts? MLF is a money grab for the guys at the top of the food chain. The payouts are marginally better so I hope for their sake they are getting a bunch of money from sponsors. A few years from now we'll see how beneficial it has been for the sport. We'll also see how many of the fringe guys were able to make more money fishing the BPT.
  23. I agree Being both a Browns fan and an Indians fan ... stupid Boston gets said a lot
  24. They should have fired Hue to begin with. They cleaned up the front office and got some football guys but the Haslems wanted to stick with Hue. So Draft a guy number 1 and 6 games later he'll be on his 2nd head coach and offensive coordinator Which means when he starts year 2 he'll be on his 3rd head coach and OC. Same old browns, same old suck
  25. My tourney partner has all Chronarchs and loves them. Unrelated- My brother went to Grinnell mid to late 90's.
