  1. BASS! I received a letter today from GE Money Bank saying they are lowering my credit line to $100 from $250. I have had PayPal for about 3-4 years and used it maybe a dozen times. I have NEVER been late with a payment. In, fact I overpaid my bill and have a 23 dollar credit. I plan on calling the company on Monday and giving them a piece of my mind (like they care). I want my 23 bucks and see if I use PayPal again. > > > > > > > > > Ok, I'm done now. I feel a tiny bit better.
  2. Why can't Bernie ship it until December. I gave up on this thread months ago and decided to check in. Nick, thank you for coming forward and passing the lure on.
  3. Way to go Jason, that is a VERY nice peacock. Lol about your lure but peacocks will destroy your plugs. You definitely have to go with cheap lures. I don't believe that's the 441 canal but I'm not going to say which one i think it is. Also, guess what? We lost the rock pit :'(. I went out there for the first time since you and I went and the lock was changed. I cut the chain and fished anyway but I'm pretty sure that will be the last of the pit.
  4. Thank you, I appreciate it.
  5. Bullseye Snakehead - Channa marulius Description: Air-breathing, torpedo-shaped fish with flattened head and toothed jaws; long anal and dorsal fins without spines; typically red eyes; body color darkens with age to deep brown with black blotches sometimes fringed with bright comma-shaped markings, and a red-orange eyespot (ocellus) near the base of the tail. It resembles a bowfin in behavior and appearance, but is distinguished by a long anal fin. Range: The Bullseye Snakehead remain centered in the Margate/Coral Springs/Pompano Beach area where it was first documented in October 2000. They will likely be limited to the southern half of Florida since temperatures below 50oF are lethal. To the south this population is bounded by the North New River Canal (G-15), L-36 Canal to the west, and the Hillsboro Canal (G-08) to the north. This is the only area from which Snakeheads have been documented, although FWC has received numerous reports of Bullseye Snakehead elsewhere these have all turned out to be similar-looking native fishes such as the Bowfin. Native range Pakistan, Malaysia, and southern China. Habitat: In canals, typically associated with overhanging shoreline vegetation, dense submersed vegetation, and debris; tolerant of stagnant waters due to air-breathing capabilities. Spawning Habitats: Spawn primarily from March through May with a secondary peak in August; adults occasionally seen herding young in shallows until six inches long; a sample of ripe females contained an average of 4,700 ready to spawn eggs. Feeding Habits: Bottom dwelling, ambush predator that feeds primarily on small fish and crayfish, but occasionally eats a wide variety of prey including turtles, toads, lizards, snakes, and insects. Age and Growth: Largest collected in Florida by FWC was 31.5 inches and weighed 9.2 pounds; reports of this species commonly growing to more than four feet and weights of 66 pounds erroneous; largest likely to get about 15 pounds. Sporting Quality: Good; have been caught on jerk baits and live baits; a popular sportfish in its native range; no bag or size limits. Snakehead News Release Edibility: Excellent; even said to have medicinal benefits in its native range by hastening the healing of wounds and internal injuries. State Record: N/A
  6. Get out of the hills and come to Florida. We have plenty of atletes/celebreties around here. Vanila Ice lives a mile away from me, Tiger Woods, Alan Jackson, Colts wide receiver (retired), 2nd string catcher for the Phillies, Bruce Springstein, and the list goes on and on and on and on and on. As far as those that grew up here, well, we have plenty of those too.
  7. There's a tournament this coming Friday night from 7p-2am off the Alley. I think the ramp is at mile marker 38 or relatively close. I have never been out there and have no clue of what the area looks like. I don't imagine I will venture too far off the main canal since I don't want to get lost in the Everglades at night and have to wait 5 hours until the sun comes up. I could use some friendly advice from those of you who fish that part of the Alley.
  8. Well which are you, 6, 8, or 10? ;D I suppose the difference between im6 and im8 is im2. The same would also be true between im8 and i10. Actually, I THINK it represents the modules in each blank.
  9. Wasn't that an awesome hit! I'm sure he woke up this morning a little stiff.
  10. We use to keep extra headlights in the office for the afternoon and midnight shift in case their headlights went out after hours. We told the new secretary to call motor pool and order 12 left headlights and 10 right headlights because we were running low. She finally realized we were joking after SEVERAL phone calls back and forth to the motor pool arguing they were wrong and that they DO make right and left headlights.
  11. Nah, I got home just in time to watch the Canes screw up their season. I turned the t.v off and went out to the garage and sat in my boat to pout.
  12. that Palmer took from the Hurricanes in the 4th? I thought for sure he was out COLD. That hit made me cringe and has to be the hit of the week.
  13. My Uncle and I went to Dick's today to buy some worms. We get to to the ckeckout lane to pay. The cashier rings up our worms and tells us the total. My Uncle, with a very serious look on his face, says to the cashier "are these worms guaranteed to catch fish?" The cashier, totally stumped by the question, replied "I, uh, don't know. Let me call the manager," to which she announces over the loud speaker for manager assistance. I had to excuse myself from the line before I made a puddle on the floor and my Uncle quickly said "it's okay, I'll buy them either way" and paid.
  14. Have the mullet showed up thick in Lake Worth south or are they still up north?
  15. LOL, thats awesome. What's a little spit in baseball? It's part of the game. Can you think of a better way to compete against steroid freaks?
  16. Yes, I have used them. If I remember correctly, there were two slightly different brands (types) though. Anyway, I was given an aluminum jon that had a few holes and gashes in it. The holes were about 1/8 - 1/4 inch diameter and the gashes were about 4 inches long and 1/8" wide. The welding rods worked GREAT. I suggest practicing with a couple rods on another piece of aluminum first though. Keep the rods moving when heating/melting. Don't keep your propane torch burning in one spot continuously or you will melt that part of the boat :, keep it moving. The patches I made with the rods are stronger than the boat itself. I was VERY pleased with the results. I've had the boat kept in the water for 8 months with ZERO leaks.
  17. That's a cool little inch worm. UL's are and little bass are so much fun. I love fishing with mine and beetlespins.
  18. I'm with you Matt. I don't refer to my favorite team as "our" team or say "we won." I like the Marlins but the night they won the World Series I didn't say "We won the series." I said " The Marlins won!"
  19. Did you watch Taylor Swift on Crossroads with Def Leppard tonight? I still think her vocals get drowned by Def Leppard but I don't care. She's also doing SNL in November. Here's the question. Which would you choose? 8 hours fishing with KVD on the lake of your choice OR An entire weekend getaway with just yourself and Taylor anywhere in the world. (travel time excluded)
  20. More world records have been caught on Ande than any other line. I use it..
  21. Probably the easiest and fastest way; 7.6' heavy rod Calcutta 300 20 Yozuri mono 3/0 - 4/0 circle hook 8-10" wild shiner or bluegill No weight and no bobber.
  22. Very nice fish. No offense, but your mom looks younger than you.
  23. That's fricking hilarious . Even the store was greedy. You would think they would hold onto her credit card or get a cash retainer before letting everyone leave with merchandise.
  24. I'll take a sweat beaver over a sour puss any day. Do you really need an explanation?
