  1. And those that don't stay home catch nothing.
  2. He's accomplished a lot to be proud of, Congratulations. P.S. Don't forget to bring him in out of the garden ;D
  3. I'd be willing to bet a bag of Roosters that his new reel is an Abu Premier. If so, send it back to Abu for a quick fix. You can put all the oil and grease you want into it and it won't fix it. How do I know? I had 2 that did this. >
  4. I believe this topic was just locked yesterday but I will chime in until it gets locked again. Let's talk gold and not red. I use gold hooks for catching my saltwater bait. You can buy a rig called Sabiki(spelling) that is basically a gold hook with a small imitation feather attached to it. I use plain gold hooks though because its's cheaper and work just as good. The baitfish are attracted to the gold flash. You can try using bronze or silver hooks but won't have the same succes.
  5. Not quite yet here in Palm Beach. It has been incredibly hot lately. There is a COOL front expected this weekend and if that marks the beginning of cooler weather then I expect the fishing to pick up drastically. But yes, I do love this time of the year when temps start to fall because the fishing gets red hot. I foresee many all day fishing trips in the very near future.
  6. like English class? ;D How did I know that was coming? ;D ;D ;D But then again, he would have to change his screen name if he spoke proper English.
  7. How do they get away with searching the cars? Lockers yes, but cars?
  8. The 893 GLX it is then. Thanks for the input.
  9. LOL, I'm just the opposite. I use baitcasting for my flukes and spinning for my senkos.
  10. I fish a lot of weightless Flukes and was considering this rod. Does anyone have or used this rod? I'm looking at the BCR893. http://products.gloomis.com/gl/products/family.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032712&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181201&bmUID=1255312762141
  11. I bet it works great for snapper.
  12. X2 I've owned both and currently have the 19' Tracker. My biggest issues are the WIND. The boat is light and strong winds makes it like a kite. I couldn't beat the price though. 17,900 new with 90 optimax. I find myself taking it in places where I wouldn't try taking a 40k rig. I fish tourny's but not big, serious tourny's. If I did, then I would be using glass with bigger fish boxes and a lot more motor.
  13. When I was 13, I put my 10' jon on 2 skateboards and pushed it down the road for a couple miles. It wasn't easy though.
  14. I'm offended by how you compared that poor fish to Rosie O'donel. That fish has at least two things going for it that Rosie doesn't. a better tail and face.
  15. Congrats on the new job and way to go on outfishing the new boss.
  16. FBL, exactly what I'm talking about. I know the Canes probably won't make the top 5 but I waited all year to watch'em. I openly admit I suck at knowing stats for different teams and players and therefore do not partake in many sports related conversations. I gave up watching/playing sports for about 5 after injuring my shoulder before being drafted. That being said, the Canes first 4 games wer4e against ranked teams. Were there any other Pre-season ranked teams that played 4 ranked teams in a row. Would the Canes schedule be considered a tough one?
  17. Yea, I understand they played a "nobody" team but so did a few other schools who were on. ARGH
  18. She doesnt like me to put pictures of her from when we are in the hills because she "looks like a hobo" lol ;D She can't be worse than ur ugly mug ;D ;D ;D Your adventures are absolutely breathtaking. You should be a guide for fishing enthusiasts. I'd pay for you to take me along but I don't fly and Cali is too far to drive from Fla.
  19. Is that so you can sneak into Disney? ;D Welcome Home and enjoy.
  20. I have to dig it out but the reel I use to flip with was made exclusively for flipping/pitching. The thumb bar does not stay engaged when you push it down, thus eliminates having to turn the handle to engage the real into gear. You don't need a high end, expensive reel to flip/pitch. You're only using maybe 6-15 feet of line and don't need to cast it. To me, the two most important things of flipping is drag and weight. Flipping will flat out wear your ars out so I like to use the lightest reel possible with a hammered drag. BUT You also want a reel that brings in a lot of line per handle crank so you can get the fish out of the junk as fast as possible and has the balls to do so. One company that comes to mind to handle all of the above is SHIMANO But, Daiwa makes (or made) a good flipping reel too. I could be wrong but I don't believe the twichen bar was meant for flipping. It was geared more for T-rig worms and more of a gimmick than anything else, IMO.

My pocket. Pack of worms, 2 extra hooks, 2 extra weights, lure box with one lure.
  22. I hope I will too in a few months when the Speck start running on Okeechobee.
  23. After the VA Tech game I think they were downgraded to light rain. ;D Smart ***** >
