Advice on trolling motors for a bonafide ss127 kayak
Mine is a 12v 54ah and I've beat the hell out if it for 4 years, still charges and acts as new.

Nice heavy rod options
My vote would be a Dobyns Champion 735c Omnia has a code for 20 off right now. Brings it in just about $200

Favorite spinnerbait rod recommendations
The GLX 844 mbr is your choice! 100% And a ton of others baits too

Older Shimano Aldebaran Mg7
I ended up with two of these reels. After a few years on them I agree with the general consensus on BR. I use both with 20lb Sufix 832 for light cranks, shaky heads, small underspins, and light top water stuff. Just got done breaking both down and cleaning them, and a re-grease. They are such simple reels, but there is something about them that is just so smooth and solid feeling. Must be the general design. Great reels!

Great choice!

When should I be using fluoro?
It's a great knot, I agree.

Cool looking craw tube.
It does have a very different action than a standard tube.

This looks great in the water.

Rod for T rigs, braid to leader, moderate vegetation
My favorite for your description is a Loomis 843 mbr rod. I only fish braid to a leader, and it’s a perfect rod with 15lb leader. If you want a little more power get an 844 mbr. I use a 735 champion, but I think it’s a bit heavier than you need.

JDM Zillion or Tatula SV 70?
I'd get a Zillion

Football style tackle
I love the hook on these. They out perform others for me. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Jewel_Baits_Tactical_Football_HD_Jig_1_2oz/descpage-JSJ.html Great price too!

20 lb vs. 30 lb Braid for Baitcaster
You're a broken record.

20 lb vs. 30 lb Braid for Baitcaster
So what if it digs in after a big fish? Next cast it's gone, keep fishing. Or should I say KEEP FISHING!

Liking the new Tackle Warehouse site now.
If you are looking for a Loomis or Megabass rod that are known by their numbers and names respectively it's difficult. You have to know exactly what the length, lure weights and line weights are to find them. Other brands seem to be less awkward. Exactly

New Daiwa BFS Reels
One thing about these reels. They don't like to be casted hard, a light even pressure cast makes the baits fly. Try and whip it out there and you get light backlash and less distance.

New Daiwa BFS Reels
I don't fish ultra light. My rigs are on a GLX 842 for light shaky heads 1/8oz, poppers, tubes, 1/8oz jigs/grubs. The other set up is with a Phenix Feather 7'1" Feather for 1/16oz, 3/32oz Neds, small cranks, Rebel minnow baits, and 3/16oz-1/4oz top water baits. Bothe reels with 8lb Orig PP braid to either a 6 or 8lb FC leader. I LOVE both rigs. Last two years I caught tons of fish on both, and some bass up to 5lbs.

New Daiwa BFS Reels
I have two Alphas Air TW reels, and they are incredible. The 70 BF reel seems to be the same reel more or less.
-
New Daiwa Tatula Elite Spinning reel
The Tatula LT reels are my favorite spinning reels. These do look pretty similar. $100 bump. I thankfully don't need any more spinning reels so I won't have to check these out.

Liking the new Tackle Warehouse site now.
These are the main issues I have with the site. Thankfully I think I'm done buying rods for a while. Unless that changes.

Favorite plastic Hellgramite
I also like the BPS baits. They are not elaztech but are great baits, at a good price. They work great wacky rigged, weightless, and on a ned head. A few years ago I was catching a lot drop shoting too.

the free-rig. i think i understand.
Tried the Free Rig two times this season, which in February is REALLY early in the year for Illinois. I got 9 bass in two trips on the Free Rig and a 2.5" gill flat type bait. I really like the way it moves in the water. Oddly enough I tried a T rigged creature bait in the same spots but didn't get a sniff, changed to the Free Rig and started catching them. I'm going to using it more coming up. This is the earliest I've caught bass around here.

Daiwa reels I missed out on, but not anymore! Steez A and Morethan content.
On a recent trip to Tokyo I did some used reel shopping at a chain of shops called TackleBerry. They sell mostly used gear and baits. I ended up with two Steez A 1016, and a Morethan all with original boxes and paid $160 ea for the Steez and $180 for the Morethan. I was never able to afford these reels when they were new, and even on a used market, they were always close to 350. They are definitely on another level as far as smoothness and castability. So now I have quite a grip of reels with these three and my four zillions. The Morethan is an amazing reel.
