Let's Talk Crank Bait Rods...
Nice rod, but not very light in weight.

Lures You Used More this Year
OG Tiny, Rebel Wee R square bill, Buzzbait. I usually only crank and buzz bait here and there. This year these baits caught so many bass I lost count, and kept fishing them all year.

P5 Z-Crank Elsie uses
Not sure about that reel on it. I have used a Zillion sv with 20lb braid with 1/8oz shaky heads on an 842 a lot, and it's a great mix.

I did all last season. I used a Daiwa Alphas Air TW w 8lb braid on my GLX 842. I only used 3/32 with a trd.

Dobyns Champion 704 crank rod glass vs graphite
I ended up with Champion 704 CB carbon rod. It's fantastic for me. Throwing OG Tiny, OG Rocco, old Rebel Wee R squares, and jerk baits. Man did I catch tons of bass this fall on the OG Tiny, and Wee R baits. Didn't lose one bass.

I don't. Never fished one. I have a bunch of GLX. IMX-Pro, and both older versions of IMX and GLX

P5 Z-Crank Elsie uses
I’ve heard some people don’t feel comfortable with the grip. I personally love the grip. I have a bunch of IMX pros too, I think they are fantastic. They have a very slight stronger blank.

How about a GLX 842 mbr? I love mine for shaky heads, poppers, small swimbaits, up to 5/16 spinnerbaits, I even use small cranks like og tiny and old Rebel wee r’s square bills. Love this rod Probably a touch lighter power to the Dobyns 703 though Oh, and it’s a great jerkbait rod too

Light line, compact finesse grass/flip/swim jigs
I fish small finesse swimjigs a lot. The best I’ve found are the Bitsy Flip, and just tried the Missile mini swim jig. Both work great. The Missile jig is really nice, and on the fancier side of things. I don’t find the Bitsy Flip skirt long at all, pretty compact and short if you ask me. An excellent swim jig w small swimbaits. 1/4oz is my favorite. Also an excellent jig around cover with a chunk. Great compact jig. Full size swim jigs I make my own with BOSS swim jig heads, and I create my own skirt patterns. Santone swim jig is another great one if you don't want to make your own.

Dobyns 704 (Heavy) for a Frog rod
Get a Champion 705c. Been my frog rod for ages. I like 7' frog rods too.

One more question. Have you ever thrown a Pro KGB bait on it?

Shimano spinning reels - Which are "power" reels/which are "finesse" reels ?
It doesn't look like they made it up, it's something Shimano designates their reels as. I never heard of this either, but at least entertain that it's a correct statement. Sheesh

What's your favorite tube and weight
I love the small 2.5" tubes. Small tubes catch big smallies.

Husky jerk
Excellent bait. They don't have much hype these days, but I still catch tons LMB, SMB, and Pike on them every year. Lots of really nice fish too.

Is it better to have a better reel or rod?
For me a $200 Tatula SV is a great reel that lasts for a long time. My Tats out lived my lower end rods by years, and are still cooking. My Dobyns Furys, and $100 Fenwicks were sold years ago, kept the reels. Just remember, You can make a middle of the road rod very sensitive by fishing braided line. That's my 2 cents
- Best “Do it all” Baitcaster between $200-250

How many lures?
My most used depending on the season and conditions: Jig & trailer T rig Chatterbait/Spinnerbait Wacky Worm Top Water - Frog/Whopper Plopper/popper Shaky Head Fluke Ned Rig Swim jig Weeds permitting, a Crankbait
- Gapen Ugly Bug
-
Daiwa Tatula SV
You didn’t look very hard did you?

Medium-Heavy Extra-Fast Info
G Loomis JWR rods are extra fast. The mh 853 JWR is a fantastic rod for jigs, t rigs, flukes, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits. I use them all the time. The 852 JWR is one of my all time favorites.

Cull Shad vs magdraft
Not sure, but I smoked them on a Magdraft free style this season. Multiple 4-5lbers. Been a great bait for me, looking forward to next year
