Using #20 lb. Braid Main Line On Bait Cast Reel ?
I regularly use both 15 and 20lb Power Pro Super Slick V2 on casting setups without issue. Rod is a G Loomis medium MBR, reel Daiwa SV tw, leader is 12lb Red Label or mono. I use is for 3.5" belly weighted underspin swimbaits, 1/4oz Bitsy Bug jigs in open water. Poppers, and 3.5" minnows like a Rebel/or jerkbaits. I use 1.5 casts worth of braid on top of mono backing. I've caught fish up to 3.5lbs and don't have any dig in, or any problems at all. Casting distance is incredible.

Anyone else hate super slick
Have you tried the Super Slick V2 or original? They are pretty different lines.

Leader size for low diameter 30lb braid
I use 30lb power pro on most of my casting setups, all leaders are tied with an FG knot which needs the leader to be a thicker diameter than the braid to be most effective. I use Seaguar Red Label in 12,15,and 20lb sizes, and don't have an issues.

Anyone else hate super slick
Are you talking about S.S. V2? or the original Super Slick? I use 15 and 20lb S.S. V2 and never have any issues at all with it. Tying leader knots, or direct, no problems. I think it's an excellent line. I use 15lb on a casting setup and it casts fantastic, and never digs in. I use it on both casting and spinning set ups. Knots are FG to leader, and a twice through the lure uni knot.

Losing Jig Fish on Heavy Action Rod
I don't fish jigs on heavy rods. I only use G Loomis 3 power rods (both JWR and MBR) for 1/4-3/8oz jigs, with 30lb braid to leader 6' long. I very rarely lose a jig fish.

Daiwa Tatula 100 vs. Tatula 150
I had a 100 and ended up returning it. It's wasn't as smooth while reeling it, and was a little noisy. The 150 is a beautifully smooth reel in every way, casting, retrieving, under pressure or not. Super solid feeling. The 100 is the only Daiwa reel I have ever owned that wasn't super smooth. I have CT Type R, SV tw, 150, and 200 reels. I may have gotten a so-so 100, not sure. Others will chime in. I am in the minority in that I don't really like very small, and light casting reels. The SV tw, and CT Type R are perfect size reels for me.

Spinnerbait life expectancy
Seems like an expensive game, of one fish per spinnerbait?

Spinnerbait life expectancy
We had unusually high water this season. I just went by the bass playbook. High dirty water spinnerbaits and chatterbaits.

Spinnerbait life expectancy
This early spring I got on first really great spinnerbait bite. It lasted weeks, and I caught a ton of big fish for my area. 5's, 6's, and my PB 7.25lber. We've had some crazy high water, and the spinnerbaits were the ticket. I would say over two weeks I caught about 20 solid fish, and a bunch of 1-2lbers. I went through about 4 spinnerbaits. Some would last longer than others depending on how strong the fish was, and how it was hooked. After a while some baits just got to the point where I couldn't tune them anymore, or blades went missing. I use BooYah, War Eagle (probably the most resilient), and Reed Runner. My question is how many fish do you expect a spinnerbait to be usable for?

Favorite spinner bait!?
Had a killer spinnerbait bite this week. I kind of wrecked the last two I had from catching fish. I had this in my box from a pike lake last year. My usual spinnerbaits are War Eagle and BooYah Counter Strike, but both got used up so I put on the BooYah Pikee and continued to clean up. It's got a pretty big blade but I still caught some 1.5lbers and up to 5lbers on it. Anyone ever use this for bass? Waiting on a TW order of spinnerbaits. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Booyah-reg-Pikee-Spinnerbait/704693.uts

Braid digging into itself
It's probable your first problem, with your lure breaking off was just a tangle, and not any issue with the braid digging. You have to get used to using braid, but once the transition is complete you will love it. You also may have over spooled your reel. That will also cause casting problems.

Ned Rig. Mono vs. Fluoro
Original and Super Slick V2 Power Pro in 8 and 10lb with a Red Label leader 8lb.

What’s your favorite brand rod? Megabass, shimano, st croix, G.loomis...
All G Loomis with a few exceptions. 1 dobyns 7' Medium casting Champion (great balanced rod for light casting uses), 1-Daiwa 6'6" Medium Spinning (Great balanced, light weight, and super sensitive) , 1-St Croix 6'6" ML Walleye Legend (great taper, sensitive) For me G Loomis MBR and JWR just have the best over all tapers for multiple uses. They all just feel right in my hand.

Favorite Top Water Mono Or Co-Poly Line ?
McCoy clear 10-15lb depending on the bait. Very limp line that lays out straight on top of the water, making it easy to work the bait. No coils laying on the water.

Curado 70 Gear Replacement
The Curado 70 reels all feel that way. It seems like it may be the way the whole design works, and changing one thing may not change the feel. Excellent casting reels tho. I added bearing to my handle, and it felt better, but it didn't change the gears feeling.

Daiwa TWS And Braid, Opinions
The sound of braid going through Bantam MGL is much louder than my TWS reels.

Daiwa TWS And Braid, Opinions
I have a bunch of TWS reels and I tie my leaders so they never go in the reel. The knot ends up between the reel and the closest guide when in casting position. No issues.

Has anyone else stopped using the FG Knot?
FG definitely works best when the leader is a larger diameter than the braid. If it’s close in diameter between lines use some other knot. Alberto is a good one I use 8lb braid to 8 lb FC and it’s fantastic. The 8lb braid is super thin.

What Makes For A Good Chatter Bait Rod ?
No one disagrees with that one.

What Makes For A Good Chatter Bait Rod ?
That's kind of my point. With a slow rod, and mono or fluoro you have an even less chance to set the hook solidly.

Big Bite baits yo mama and creature
3" YoMama is a fantastic finesse jig trailer, so the 4" would be great for a full size jig trailer. They are great T rigged too. Great baits. Those and Yum Wooly Bugger are my two faves and very reasonably priced.

What Makes For A Good Chatter Bait Rod ?
Why do some of you guys feel you pull the bait out of the fishes mouth with a fast action rod. I fish chatterbaits similarly to swimjigs, when you feel the weight of the fish you set the hook. Bass sometimes follow a swimjig mouthing the jig, sometimes with chatterbaits the blade stops and the fish turns. With both, when you feel the weight of the bass set the hook. It's a large thick hook that can take a pretty solid hookset to get in there.

Chatterbait trailer: razor shadz vs zako
I use a fluke. It moves great, and lets the chatterbait hunt really well. I have great catch rates with it. No one else uses a fluke?
