  1. Yeah, that will sink like a rock.
  2. How did the rod work out for frogging? I like short frog rods too.
  3. Hello. You think the Elite skipping rod would be ok for a frog rod? I like a shorter frog rod, and the specs look ok on paper.
  4. In my experience the Tatula spinning rods are much more sensitive, light and have much better actions for what you describe than both the Fury ans Sierra lines of spinning rods. The Tatula line of spinning rods is fantastic. Also for me spinning rod handles that don't have a foregrip are very uncomfortable. The Tatula has one of the most comfy grips around.
  5. 30lb braid to a 15 or 17lb McCoy copoly leader of 5' on a fast action rod. Great sensitivity, and this set up keeps fish pinned.
  6. This site has a crazy amount of pages full of people arguing over knots, which line is better, and which rod is more sensitive than another. Why not have a little fun? Bass fishing isn’t that serious is it?
  7. Thank you. What I’ve read says it has a kind of soft tip good to help make accurate casts. You disagree?
  8. Hey. Do you own this rod? Thoughts on it? What do you throw on it? Thx
  9. Definitely olde English. They want to be “classy”
  10. That is my interest too, an under 7’ heavy. Seems like no one bought this rod......hopefully someone will chime in.
  11. Does anyone have experience with the Shimano Curado Dock Sniper Rod. It's 6'10" heavy extra fast rod. The descriptition of the action it has a nice tip, and is not a broomstick. TW has them on sale for $99 and was wondering what other applications this rod may be good for. Frogging, top water.....what do you think?
  12. I'm not too versed on Shimano JDM reels, or really not at all. To me this reel looks quite nice, and hopefully it's a better reel that the Curado 70 was. I understand a lot of people like matching the rods and reels, I'm not one of them. To me this reel doesn't look all that different that a Curado K, which I think is a great looking reel.
  13. All these ridiculous names they have to come up with. Are any of them cool? Stradic, Chronarch, Curado??? The reels turn into something people have good feelings about after using them and catching fish with them, then they are cool names. Vanford sounds like some aristocratic jerkoff family. The Vanfords of Scottingbush have arrived.
  14. I have shoulder issues which caused me to by light rods and reels. It helps a lot. I also stopped the swinging for the fences casting style. I put some power, but not so much that I feel it.
  15. Maybe the fixed the geary feeling that some of the discontinued 70 reels exhibited after a few months of use.
  16. I'm not really, and I'm not even in the market for a new spinning reel. just having fun. I know a lot of people will be excited about it though.
  17. Here's the Vanford prices: https://www.fishusa.com/Shimano-Vanford-Spinning-Reel
  18. New Kage reels look fantastic. Vanford pricing seems to be the same as the Ci4+: https://www.fishusa.com/Shimano-Vanford-Spinning-Reel
  19. Are you referring to the heavy Tatula rod with the cork handle? I've been thinking of it for frogs and maybe an S-Waver 168. Think it would handle these?
  20. You are assuming quite a bit here. There are other places that can be mined. This location is not the end of the line. It's not hypocritical to want the boundary waters to be kept clean.
  21. The boundary waters are delicate and for sure don't need to have a copper/nickel mine in addition to whatever else happens there. The issues are not really on the same level in regards to leaving garbage behind VS a copper/nickel mine operating inside the area.
  22. 5” Stik-o, ZinkerZ both work great. Use an “o” ring your worm will last for quite a few fish.
  23. Like “eh it doesn’t matter”?
