  1. St Croix Premier spinning rods have a slower action than the typical fast action rod. They are great do everything rods.
  2. That's the rod I got for my friend. It's a 6' 2 piece L action rod. I also held a 6'6" ML that was just as nice.
  3. I just bought a Daiwa Procyon rod for a friend who's just starting out. I have to say I am impressed with that rod. It has a crisp feel, and a really comfortable handle.
  4. Beware of the emperors new clothes. you will realize different tools for different jobs will improve your fishing.
  5. I got you. I thought you were having trouble bass fishing and having pike bite offs. Have you tried Tactical Anglers power snaps? They are tough stuff. Not sure what hardware you were having failures with. https://www.tackledirect.com/tactical-anglers-power-clips-75lbs.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwmMX4BRAAEiwA-zM4JlhBxXa5_AdF8mXLFzKXxQZAP_xLk4TKayN_AuuvfMaDa288UmldBhoC6k8QAvD_BwE
  6. What kind of fluoro leaders were you using? What Lb test? I have been making leader from Blue Label Seaguar in 30 lb to prevent pike bite offs. It works great, I haven't had one pike bite off since using them. I will admit that most of the pike are small, but I have caught many 30-34" pike so far. Sometimes I tie an FG knot to about 12" of the leader material, and that works great too.
  7. For me it is the IMX-Pro 852c JWR. It's good find unicorns.
  8. I have both, and I would say the Daiwa is more sensitive. Both are nice rods though.
  9. G Loomis Daiwa St Croix Dobyns I put the no-no to Kistler
  10. Do you find those lures more effective than an original floater Rapala?
  11. Original floating Rapala minnow 2 3/4" and 3 1/2", 3 1/2" Rebel minnow, Hula Popper. all lures from when I was a kid that never stopped catching fish.
  12. Not referring to you in particular. More just in general on BR. I understand everyone here love bass fishing, and loves gear, and most of all talking about it. However for me personally I don't get the complaining about a reel having the same frame as another older model, or a T wing reel, or the name of a reel. Just my 2 cents.
  13. This summer I've had great luck casting a whopper plopper about 3' out side the weedline and retrieving it parallel to the line. Doing the same with chatterbaits too. When working slower, I've been short casting a wacky worm with a jighead and cleaning up.
  14. Why stress about it? They are all great reels. BR has been getting some irate responses lately. Everyone needs to chill.
  15. Nice! Symetre reels were great. I loved my old 500 size UL reels. They lasted for a very long time.
  16. As luck would have it, I had a doctors appointment today 1mile from a local tackle store. I stopped in to look around and the had the Tatula 6'9" skipping rod. It was right at the front door, 3' feet from entering the store. It felt like too much of a coincidence, so I picked it up. I asked for a discount and they did 15% off. It's a killer rod. It has some serious back bone, but a really nice tip. Thanks for the advice @YoTone. Looks like I'll have a nice jig rod too, when I need it.
  17. Aren’t Senkos salted to give them the magic drop everyone is always talking about.
  18. Been liking those Loomis and st croix reels?
  19. I never understood why people find it so annoying. Just keep 2 bags worth in their original packaging. If you don’t lose your jig it will last for days of fish. Two bags may last you half a season.
  20. I always wonder why anyone would use anything other than Z-man Ned stuff. It’s the best there is.
  21. The 3 Z-man Sizes all look great. They will probably be cheaper, and Definitely more durable than the SK.
  22. 8 speed reels are my preferred reels for jigs and T-rigs. Everything else I rock a 6 and 7.
