  1. The wounds look pretty serious. OUCH! https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/889dj3/giant-fish-pulls-woman-under-tears-chunk-out-of-her-leg-at-lake-resort?utm_source=vicecanadafbca&utm_content=1596204576&utm_medium=social&fbclid=IwAR1KloaHoQzVYh9pIwYSpqAzukEO-JXMzlPyeRn6ovzRogkC026-Qw5FJnA
  2. Get some fluorescent line like Trilene XL in 6, it will help you see it. 8lb is too heavy for an UL rig.
  3. I T-rig with a 1/4oz weight pegged, and use it as a jig trailer too. Green Pumpkin Purple, Black w red flake, and June Bug are my colors. These days I have mostly switched to the Super Speed Craw when T-rigging it. Fantastic baits.
  4. I recently bought a Daiwa dock skipping rod at a local shop. I was also buying a Procyon spinning rod for a friend at the same time (by the way it's pretty d**n nice for $70). When I was at the counter I asked the salesman if I could get a break since I was buying two rods, and he said without taking a breath the best he could do 15% off. I was surprised it was such a good discount. Do you guys ever ask for discounts at local shops?
  5. You can bypass the wetting part, and just dry them with paper towels. It will soak up the goop.
  6. Nice one! I like the old Humpy too
  7. Try it and report back!
  8. The mini spinnerbait or the razor??? This mini bait catches tons of fish, and plenty of 3lbers too. SMB love too.
  9. I have been experimenting buying soft baits through Ali Express. I have found some really great lures. One thing I have noticed is some of the soft swimbaits seem a touch less soft then I would like, so I started boiling them for about 45 seconds. What I have found is that the baits become much softer, and have a much better action after boiling them, even after they cool down. So my question is, what happens to the material after boiling them that makes them stay softer after cooling down? thanks
  10. Blah....They jack up their prices then keep having sales. The rods are still over priced IMHO.
  11. No jig set up?
  12. I saw that some guys fish for Kings, strong fish. I do pay close attention to my gear, and work on my own reels. The closest I came to noticing a change quickly to a reel was with a Curado 70. After one season the gears definitely changed quite a bit mid season.
  13. What's up with these guys using a reel for one trip and wearing out the gears? A bunch the posters on this thread seem to wear out their gears by looking at them.
  14. I can speak directly to your question. I have 4 older IMX MBR casting rods that are between 5 and 10 years old that I bought new, and have been using them since I bought them. I am very familiar with the feel and taper of them, they have always been my favorite rods. Last year I bought two IMX-Pro rods JWR 863, and the JWR 852 and have 1 season on them and have become familiar with them. It didn't take any time to get used to the the faster JWR taper, it's fantastic feeling. For me the two rods compliment each other more than the IMX-Pro rods replacing the IMX. I will say I love my older IMX MBR rods, and I would love to some day try an IMX-Pro MBR to feel them next to each other. In comparison: casting distance and accuracy: same sensitivity: IMX-Pro is a more sensitive balance: same guides and handle: both are very comfortable to me, fit like a glove. guides and grip are both a little smaller on the IMX-Pro and work great.
  15. No one mentioned a jig yet, but they are great around wood. You will have to learn how to dance them through the branches, but it's worth the learning curve.
  16. Are you talking about import versions of these reels? I never noticed the way Daiwa delineates there spools other than the "D" I see now that the 2000 LT has a "D" and the 3000 doesn't have a "D", That's why they hold the same amount of line. I agree that Daiwa gives their reel too much line capacity. I guess I should have said "shallower" instead of shallow. Thanks. I see these JDM versions have a much shallower spool. Looks good. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-JDM-Daiwa-Tatula-Spinning-LT-2500S-Zaion-light-weight-japan/402331385423?hash=item5dacd1be4f:g:k1cAAOSwm7VfEw1d
  17. The shallow Tatula LT 3000 model number is TALT3000-CXH, it holds the same amount of line as the 2000 but with a larger diameter spool that is shallow. The reel with the deeper spool is the TALT3000D-CXH the "D" stands for deep.
  18. Did you know that the Tatula LT 3000 has a shallow spool version?
  19. I'm not familiar with the Core 50
  20. Does anyone have an opinion on this reel. I have a chance to get a really clean one for $125. Worth it?
  21. 1/4oz Bitsy Flip Super Speed Craw t rigged War Eagle Spinnerbait Whopper Plopper

  23. I've been a Beetle Spin style bait fan for a long time. It's definitely a numbers bait, but also catches fish when other stuff won't, and plenty of bigger fish. Here's my take on it.
