  1. I think you posted in the wrong thread.
  2. I buy both, and both are excellent. I don't mind opening up a new reel, I do it anyway with every reel. Of the 10 or so other Daiwa reels I have this is the only one that needed grease.
  3. I have three Tatula LT all great out of the box, and four Tatula SV tw, all had some grease but needed more.
  4. I received my 2020 Tatula SV tw in the 8.1:1 speed. I took it out of the box, and it felt pretty dry on the gears but still smooth. I opened it up to take a look inside. I found there was zero grease on the gears, and zero oil in the bearings. I put some grease on the gears, and light touches of oil on the bearings. Twice as smooth afterwards, and it felt good before, now it feels fantastic. Just putting this out there for anyone who gets a new one. It's probably a good idea to check it out before you fish it. It's a super comfortable, smooth reel.
  5. I think the pros fish with what their sponsors sell. They don't have to worry about warranty, breaking rods or longevity.
  6. The best rod I have used for those size t rigs is an IMX-Pro 852 jwr. You can find them used for $$200-$250. Or get an E6x version.
  7. I only use braid to leader, and I feel slack hits, and baits touching weeds on the drop all the time. I can also see the line great using yellow braid. I'm talking jigs, t rigs, weightless stick worms....that type of stuff.
  8. I use a Tatula 7'1" ML rod that is Daiwa's Drop Shot rod. It's a fantastic rod for up to 1/4oz weights. It's great caster, and really balanced too. Sensitivity is really great, it's no noodle, and fights fish really well. Seems like it's right up your alley. It's a versatile rod, I am able to use it for lots of different presentations.
  9. I don’t believe color matters as much as where, and how you are fishing your bait. Any dark natural color is ok by me, and the fish. Brown, green, black, purple, and any mix of them. My 2 cents.
  10. I wouldn’t let a bad spool turn you off. I only use braid, and only use PP and 832. Both lines are really solid and have zero issues.
  11. The smallest size fluke works great. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Zoom_Tiny_Fluke_20pk/descpage-ZTF.html
  12. Same line, different package: https://www.outdoorsfirst.com/article/powerpro-changes-everything-new-emphasis-new-logo/
  13. The line is exactly the same , they just changed the package.
  14. If you're not used to tying knots with brand new braid, it could be your issue. Run the line through your fingers squeezing tightly about 20 times to remove the new vibe from the line. Knots will hold better.
  15. Jointed Rebels are some of my favorite lures, along with the non-jointed minnows too. They have a special wobble to them, less snakey than Rapala minnows. Both are excellent lures. They definitely don't have any hype these days.
  16. The 703 is a great moving bait rod. probably not the most sensitive rod out there.
  17. 100 for $16.22! I just got some the other day. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ITGLQEG/ref=twister_B00J07J4MO?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  18. As far as limpness, knot strength, and line management McCoy copoly is fantastic. It's probably the easiest handling line I've ever used. I don't usually use straight fl,uoro, but I do use McCoy straight and have had nothing but positive experiences with it.
  19. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It definitely has a different feel than all my other rods. I have mostly G Loomis rods, with two Daiwa, and one St Croix. Now one Shimano.
  20. Hello Has anyone ever noticed a brand new rod changing feeling after fishing, and catching some fish on it. I guess it could be called "breaking in". Would the carbon loosen up a little after repeatedly bending while casting, and reeling in fish? After fishing my new Zodias 2020 rod three times, and catching about 40 fish, I noticed it loading up a little more easily than when I first started using it. I have been fishing the exact same shaky head rig on it the whole time. I have never noticed this with any other new rod. Could the "X" wrap have something to do with it? Maybe I'm crazy. Thx
  21. Your want for a jig rod using these weights you would be best suited with any Loomis 2 power JWR, or 3 power MBR rod. Some of the responses seem to be ignoring the lighter weights you want to throw. Just my 2 cents.
  22. T-Mac, trick worm, 6” jelly worm, regular size swamp crawler. all of these are killer.
  23. I have two Older green and black Cabela's tackle bags. They have lasted for years, looking a little droopy but still solid. It's my favorite tackle bag. I noticed Bass Pro put their name on it, and changed the design. Does anyone use these new BPS bags? Are they as solid as the older ones? Thx
