  1. Yeah. I would say if you want to go heavier get the 3 power rod for that stuff. Great rod
  2. Still a killer deal, but I got 2 bucks on you! haha
  3. I ordered one from TW on BF that was backordered until 12/9. On the 12th I got the shipping confirmation email, so it's on the way now. I was in no rush since it's winter here, and the $183 was too killer a price of argue with. I have one of the first ones that was shipped, and it's a fantastic reel.
  4. It is a 2 power rod, so it's not going rip a 6lber out heavy stuff. However for it's rating it has good back bone, and imo a perfect 10-12lb line rod. I have hooked into some big 7-8lb catfish, and it was a fun fight. The rod handled them well.
  5. One of my favorite rods. When I fish ned rigs I fish 1/16 and 3/32, so I wouldn't use this rod. What I use it for are 1/8-1/4 shaky heads, 3.5-4" swimbaits on belly weighted/underspin hooks, 1/4 bitsy bugs jigs, 1/8-5/16 t rigs, and poppers. It excels at all of these baits. It's one of best balanced rods I have ever used. I use it with a Tatula SV too, and it's a fantastic combo.
  6. You can buy a G Loomis or St Croix rod that is made in the USA. Although I'm not too sure how good a partner the USA is with itself right now.
  7. Pulse is a killer bait any way you slice it. Definitely worth a try when ever you're wanting to fish a swimbait. I wouldn't say one is better than the other. The X-Zone Swammer is also a great bait to check out.
  8. Why was the reel seat off to begin with? That's a pretty odd story. He glued just before you got there?
  9. I would highly recommend the regular Tatula 7’1” ml spinning rod. It’s fantastic. A great 8lb line rod. wouldn’t really be great for 1/2oz jig though.
  10. I have the 6'9" ML. I think the lure rating is right feeling, but the line weight doesn't feel like a 4-8lb rod. I think it feels more like a 6-10 or 12lb rating. Slightly heavier than other ML rods I have. Great rod though. Versatile.
  11. 2000 Tatula LT, or 1000 Stradic FK with 8lb braid
  12. Both are excellent lines. I use both, but when I go down to 8 and 10lb I prefer PP. I use both 832 and PP in the 20-50lb strengths, and love both of them.
  13. I had two of the bass mafia fancy plastic bags. I had the zip lock/zipper fail on both of them with in a few months. Contacted them two times, never heard back from them. I'm done with them.
  14. I tried that exact V2 line in blue. I had a hard time seeing it in some conditions. I really liked V2 though.
  15. I haven’t had any issues with any gears, or any reel problems to speak of. I did have a Curado 70 two years ago that became rough feeling after 3 months. What would cause that feeling other than the gears? Thx
  16. I haven’t had to do in my reels so far. I’m wondering if it’s proper practice to always change out the main and pinion at the same time. I would imagine that both would become worn at the same rate.
  17. 2-Curado k 2-Curado MGL 70 1-Bantam mgl 5-Tatula sv tw 1-Tatula 150 1-Tatula ct type r I mostly use my Shimano reels for moving baits, except the MGL’s are used for light baits, mostly light jigs, t rigs, small swim baits I mostly use my Daiwa reels for all bottom contact, and everything else. Both brands are excellent, I’ve just gravitated to this because it feels right. I do find the 200k and Bantam reels are not as good with lighter baits. That’s probably why I use them for moving baits like spinner baits, chatterbaits, top water. Heavier stuff
  18. That's fine, but the OP states he wants to use smaller light wire finesse hooks on his jigs. He's also doesn't mention anything about 1/8oz jigs
  19. Don't understand what you mean, it's very confusing. If the NRX is considerably different than the IMX-Pro in power I see no issue. The JWR 852c has plenty of backbone for setting the hook on a finesse jig, or a jig like the SK Bisty Flip.
  20. I use two IMX-Pro 852c JWR rods. That model is one of my all time favorite rods. I use it for shaky heads, 3/16-1/4oz finesse jigs, poppers, 3-4" belly weighted swimbaits, and weightless stickbaits. It's a perfect rod for me for all of these presentations. I have them both rigged up with 20lb braid to 10-12lb leader. I have one with a Curdao MGL 70, and one with a Tatula SV tw 103, both are perfect on them.
  21. Shaky Heads, poppers (1/4oz Pop-R), Flukes, Jerkbaits (1/4oz X-Rap and Husky Jerk), 1/8oz-1/4oz bitsy bug jigs, 4" and 5" weightless stickbaits.
  22. The new Zodias ML spinning rod is a perfect match for your reel. I have the same combo, and I love it.
  23. You have to wait for the order confirmation email. I just bought a Curado and it was discounted in the email.
